Anyone have long term recovery?

Posted by Laura Dropps @ldropps, Feb 25, 2023

I was positive for Covid for the first time in November 2020. It's been a rollercoaster ride and I believe I'm as well as I've been since then. I am not where I want to be, however and not where I thought I'd be after going to the Mayo. I wish I could even talk to a nurse or my doctor, but I was told I'd have to start at the beginning at the Mayo. So I have an appointment in May with a rheumatologist here at home. Hopefully, something will come of that. Has anyone had close to a full recovery?

I have not heard of a full recovery but life is better for me 6 years later. After 6 months if titration, low dose naltrexone gave me a portion of my day back by increasing my energy and decreasing the significant allergies to everything that the COVID fairy blessed me with. I have had the energy to slowly increase my walking in the morning to .7 of a mile, I can work at the computer for 3-4 hours with breaks, go to coffee with friends a couple times a week, and get one task done in the house if I break it up into steps and extremely pace myself. Talking with strangers still drains my energy faster than anything...I think it is because I try so hard to communicate. My blood pressure and pulse still get erratic if I don't properly pace...and shortness of breath rears its ugly head once a month or so. My skin is staying pretty clear with the use of colloidal oatmeal cream. But if I go off my diet and eat a food I am now allergic to, I hurt like crazy by 4 in the morning and GI distress returns. It is not perfect and not back to normal but I can do so much more than I could even a year ago!

@vostie what LDN dosage are you at? I’m four month into taking LDN, but doctors still adjusting dosage. They just reduced down again after a 6 week increase with dizziness & nausea at higher LDN. In the initial months I’ve noticed slightly less neuro pain in part of body, the fatigue and migraine pain has diminished at all yet. I’m still working on diet, but my LDN nausea usually last into mid afternoon’s so morning yogurt and cereal only for me.
