What are some reliable ways to stay focused during long work hours?
I often lose concentration after a few hours of work. I'd love to hear what methods or routines have worked for others.

I sometimes have trouble getting started. Once I do start, I get hyperfocused and do not take enough breaks to keep my concentration going.
Here is the evidence-based method I use, called, the Pomodoro Technique. This method is used by mental health clinicians for their clients with ADHD. There is a website where you can purchase manuals, timers, and such but that's not necessary. I follow the basics here. I find that I can work for hours on a project with this method.

What do you think? Worth a try?
Take 5 minute breaks, to look away from your computer screen, and get up and walk around once per hour. Get something to drink so you stay hydrated. These activities will give your eyes and mind a much needed break. I’ve found that avoiding talking to coworkers helps me to seamlessly get back into the work.
