Hi,
Let your doctor be your guide on what and when of activities. I was walking in the hospital hours after surgery, continued walking at home doing laps in the house with the cath in. More walking after the cath was out, building to light exercise when the doctor permitted. Don’t want to risk a hernia by doing to much too soon.

@clevelandguy I agree.

I do not remember how long it took after a radical, non nerve saving (Davinci) prostatectomy to get back to running. I waited about a month and then did light exercises with a personal trainer, avoiding any exercises that would impact the abdomen. Once I felt comfortable with a fast walk I started my running routine again, with no issues.

I followed doctor recommendations to the T. Do NOTHING but walk for six weeks. Then let your body be the guide as you ease back into normal routines. Nine months post RARP and back to full strength/full activities. Still encounter some minor stress incontinence with significant physical exertion, but no big deal. All good except the pecker will never be the same, but that is probably another topic.
