That sounds awful. I've never experienced that kind of activity.
How long do these episodes last?
Do you think these are auras or seizures. When/if you have seizures do you retain consciousness? Do you know what type of seizures you have?
Are you taking antiseizure meds, if so which one and what dosage?
Do you know what type epilepsy you were diagnosed with.
Take care,
Jake

What is your best definition of the term shockwave? Is it just your hands, your hold body and/or other. Some consider unstable hands a shockwave.

That is terrible Focal I have but I have Focal aware seizures which can really freak me out sometime, especially when I'm kicking my husband at night and it doen't wake him up but I see myself doing it but can't stop doing it.

Hi Fran, Good Morning
Welcome to our group at Connect.
What you're experiencing must be terrible! I'm really sorry you're going through this.
I wonder if these shockwaves might be related to your medication. I've never experienced this myself, but like @belinda5000, I've also had kicks, especially at night while sleeping, when I was on a certain medication.
Epilepsy can feel unpredictable and isolating, but you've already taken a brave step by reaching out here. I hope this community can help you find some answers. Could you please share a bit more about these episodes and answer @jakedduck1's questions? Have you had a chance to talk to your doctor about them, and if so, what did he or she say?
I'm sending you lots of strength!
Chris
