Reaction after jab kidney failure

Posted by beabonne76 @beabonne76, Jun 28 6:13am

I had Covid pneumonia in December 21. Given plasma infusion and continuous oxygen. Since discharge up to now 2026, had Covid jabs x two yearly . After jab last May 2026, I had usual symptoms, muscle aches, tired, no appetite. These symptoms altered to sleeping for hours day and night. After 4 days post jab my blood pressure dropped dramatically and was admitted to hospital with a diagnosis of kidney trauma due to dehydration and medication. Post jab I had not changed my usual input of water . Could my blood pressure drop and kidney failure be related to Covid jabs? Has anyone had s similar experience?

Your electrolytes maybe off. Has been happening to me since Covid pneumonia. I use a packet of Drip Drop in water several times a week. I buy it on Amazon. I hope this helps.

It would be good to see a nephrologist if you have not done so; doctors generally assume the acute kidney injury (AKI) that you had will heal and not result in chronic kidney disease (CKD). I get covid vaccines 2x/year and have the usual symptoms of fatigue, and sore arm and joints for several days, no other problems. Three years ago I caught covid while on a bike tour and it wiped me out for 10 days. The long covid (LC) started after that and was mainly PEM (post exercise malaise for 3 mo and blood pressure spikes that felt like my heart was slamming against my sternum. I had to back off to moderate exercise until the LC went away after 8 mo. A couple of months after that, I caught norovirus from my husband and it caused extreme nausea, diarrhea, and high fever; my AKI from norovirus resulted in scarring of kidney tubules and glomeri, and I now have stage 3a CKD. It is important to stay hydrated, take rest breaks, and avoid junk foods (renal diets help). I am now on Jardiance, an SGLT2 inhibitor that lowers my glucose and salt, relaxes my kidney tubules and blood vessels (systolic went from 120 to 105), and helps prevent progression of the CKD. I don't have diabetes, cardiovascular, or other problems, just the CKD.
