Auvelity and ketamine infusions
I’m a long time sufferer of MDD. I started doing ketamine infusions in 2024. I had very low expectations due to my many past med failures. I responded well and felt I was atleast in a partial remission. The cost of the infusions made me space out booster treatments too far in between. Sure enough I’m back to being depressed. Furthermore the ketamine treatments seem to be less effective when I resumed getting them. Now I’ve just begun Auvelity and would be very interested in hearing of others experiences with it. Also I’d be curious if any other people here have done ketamine infusions that was helpful initially, but has become less effective. Thank you

Hi. I have been on IV ketamine since February, 2024. It saved my life
What's it do?
For chronic pain. Ketamine IV
Antidepressants can indeed be quite expensive. I've run into this personally.
At the same time, just wanted to gently point out the potential dangers and risks of "making your own," as bupropion and dextromethorphan (Auvelity) is different then taking a prescription of bupropion and cough medication, according to a colleague who works in Psychiatry & Psychology. Please consider consulting with your doctor about alternatives to concocting medications. Manufacterer savings programs have also been useful to me over time for more expensive medications, and I see that there is one available from the maker of this pharmaceutical.

@lisalucier my personal experience trying both brand-name Auvelity as well as “homemade” (generic bupropion and generic dex) is that they are NOT the same, AT ALL. I know it works great for some and cost is certainly an issue. However I was personally blown away at the difference; I would guess there is a time-release mechanism at play with the combo that made the difference for me.
Personally I found Auvelity very dangerous for me but I am glad when I hear about any treatments having a positive effect for others. It’s worth a conversation with your prescribing physician for sure.
