Auvelity and ketamine infusions
I’m a long time sufferer of MDD. I started doing ketamine infusions in 2024. I had very low expectations due to my many past med failures. I responded well and felt I was atleast in a partial remission. The cost of the infusions made me space out booster treatments too far in between. Sure enough I’m back to being depressed. Furthermore the ketamine treatments seem to be less effective when I resumed getting them. Now I’ve just begun Auvelity and would be very interested in hearing of others experiences with it. Also I’d be curious if any other people here have done ketamine infusions that was helpful initially, but has become less effective. Thank you

Wat to talk to someone about advantages of Ketamin with severe depression no meds have worked. also about using it with someone with early stages of dementia. depression outways the dementia
The psychiatrist I went to for ketamine, used injections rather than infusions and you stayed in his office listening to music over headphones for 40 minutes. I went Monday through Friday for two weeks. It took me from extremely depressed to manageably depressed. I would be very careful in using it in early dementia. I would have a long discussion with the psychiatrist about this.
Hi
Just wondering if anyone else here receives ketamine therapy? I have been on since February, 2024. Mental illness and neuropathic pain from MS.
@fitchick Hi! My pain mgmt doctor tried this therapy on me, I had two sessions, but it didn't help the pain. It was an interesting experience. I had to pay out of pocket since insurance wouldnt cover.
Are you getting relief? I hope so.

1 Reaction@fitchick I do IV ketamine. I have ocular neuropathic pain. Ketamine doesn’t help with the pain (but it does help with my mood, and when my mood is low, my pain is more intense - an indirect effect I suppose)
Does ketamine help you?

3 ReactionsI've been battling with depression my whole life i've tried everything I recently went on an Auvelity equivalent of 100mg of Bupropion and 7.5 ml of dextromethorphan cough medicine. It actually seems to work It's the only thing that I have tried the last 40 years that has actually done any good.

2 ReactionsI did ketamine infusions combined with therapy and loved it but it was too expensive for long term treatment, I have been on every other depression med over the last 50 years. I am
Now on Auvelity and it is definitively somewhat effective. So I do recommend it and you can get the two meds needed over the counter and it works just as well. I have been on it for 2 months and NO side effects which is wonderful in itself.
