9 months after septal myectomy I’m having an electrical type spasm
I had my septal myectomy last September at Mayo in Minnesota. Had a great experience and recovery. Since then I’ve lost 30 pounds and am down to 123 lbs.
and have been trying to walk 3-5 miles a day.
Everything has been great until two days ago. I was more tired than normal when walking and all day felt an electrical like spasm on the left side of my chest. The next day it only happened once or twice. I read that around 9 months one might experience this as the nerves are healing. Has anyone else experienced this? I checked my EKG app on my phone and there wasn’t any Afib .
I contacted my Dr at Mayo Phoenix and am waiting to hear back.
I’ve worked so hard to protect my heart, but this is concerning.

Hi @mbi, that sounds scary!
I'm glad you have made contact with your Dr at Mayo in Phoenix.
What a great recovery you have going on, until this deal!
I'm impressed!
You mention you contacted your Dr at Mayo in Phoenix, did you also send a message through the patient portal in Rochester?
That's what I would do.
They are so good about getting back to you, and the Hypertrophic Clinic there would probably be interested in knowing about this new event.
Have you been on the patient portal before?

I’ve been on the portal in Phoenix, but not Rochester. I’ll try that tomorrow. Good idea because they are out of the office in Phoenix until Friday.
I’m hoping it’s just nerves regenerating.
