Am I just paranoid?

Posted by yipyap @yipyap, 11 hours ago

Im 16 and I had my first time with my bf during the 3rd day of my period. We used protection and we didnt even last a minute and he didnt ejaculate. Now, im on my luteal phase (i track my cycle) im currently experiencing sore breast, and i have more discharge than usual. Is that normal? Even tho my bf always reassures me that we did everything safely, im still scared because of what I'm experiencing currently. Everytime i search the symptoms i am experiencing, it is always linked with pregnancy. I kept overthinking, what if the condom broke, and many more "what ifs". I'm really scared and I don't know what to do, I can't focus on my tasks at home— afraid that I might be pregnant.

This is a good place to ask yours questions. Sounds like you both covered the protection part. Wouldn't hurt to see your doctor or go to a walk in clinic.
Worrying will just add more to the stress. Good for you advocating for yourself. That's very smart, well done.

@ellesea01 honestly, living in a conservative country it would hurt to go to a clinic as a minor. Im already struggling on how i can tell my parents or anyone if ever I am pregnant. In this country even thinking of terminating it is considered as taboo. Im just seeking for assurance from professionals here. Im even reconsidering taking a pregnancy test cause im afraid that they might find out i had sex at this age. I've been drowning in guilt for the past weeks.

Welcome to Mayo Connect. It must be very scary to think about the possibility of being pregnant in your situation.

There have been a couple of discussions asking the same question. Here is a search for discussions that offer suggestions:

Based on your discussion, I cannot tell whether you're in the US or another country. Are at-home pregnancy tests available where you live? They can be bought over the counter. It might be too soon to take one, but within a couple of weeks, if you have not had your period, then I would consider doing an at-home test. This article from the Cleveland Clinic explains how it works and when to take.

I am sure it is hard for you to stay calm and wait and see. The best advice I have is to stay busy and wait and see.
