Skin irritation around the stoma

Posted by pidge32 @pidge32, Jun 12 10:39am

Has/had anyone had severe skin irritation around the stoma that you just can’t get to heal? I’m using the powder as advised but it doesn’t seem to be helping all that much. It’s quite painful at times.
Any suggestions?

Thank you. We are changing every 3 days now to see if that helps. Isn’t the sticky part of the bag considered the barrier?

@pidge32 yes, the sticky part is the barrier.

Thank you for clarifying that for me. I feel so dumb but this is so foreign to me.
I go back to WOCN next Wednesday for my follow up and my list of questions.
Susan,
I can’t thank you enough for all your help. You have been a life saver for me 💕
