Staying hydrated is always important - especially if you haave PD and if you get the ABBvie subdural l-dopa pump. I have had one since Febraru 2024 with excellent results. One of the things that is absolutely critical for pump users is taking care of their skin. The single reason that most people do not continue using the pump is that if they may not have been sufficiently t diligent with hygiene at the injection sites, and this makes them more vulnerable to infcctions and can't use the pumpe. One part of skin care is keeping hydrated -- dry skin is more "welcoming{ to infections" So in addition to paying strickt attention to hygiene and diligently disinnfecting the injection sites, you need to keep hydrated and use unscented skin creams to moisturize the areas of the injection sites.
