New diagnoses-now Serum negative RA

Posted by betsyhase @betsyhase, Jun 9 1:59pm

I was initially diagnosed with PMR but finally got into see a Rheumatologist. After bloodwork he said serum negitive Rheumatoid Arthritis. Still on 10mg Prednisone but starting to take Methotrexate. First try, it gave me diarrhea so he suggested I take it in the evening with an Immodium. Also some dietary changes. He focused on no corn, pork, sugar, fish(omegas) and potatoes. Not sure why the Omegas are a problem and I forgot to ask. Any comments on the above?
I am still struggling with a lot of pain but he wants me to try the Methotrexate again to see if I can tolerate it. If not we will need to try another medication and maybe an injection/IV delivery .
Has anyone else been down this road?
