My TRIMIX experience

Posted by maverick75 @maverick75, Jan 4, 2025

I've been using Trimix for about six months with outstanding results. It did take some experimentation to figure out the best way to make it work for me. With hopes that it may help others, here's what I discovered using this medication: (BTW, I'm 71, one year post SBRT and 4 months Orgovyx)
- I have had to use the oral antidote several times (works well) in the early dose experimentation days for super hard erections lasting more than three hours (4tablets of 30 mg pseudoephedrine. Don't make the mistake of buying the extended release pseudoephedrine tabs). Make sure you have this on hand before you start this medication!
- I had to find the sweet spot for the injection site and depth. For me turns out to be the 10 and 2 o'clock position with the 1/2" needle almost fully inserted around mid-shaft.
- Shelf life on the Trimix in the refrigerator is limited. I can definitely see a difference in the results at the 3-4 week period. For me, it became pretty useless after 4 weeks, even at a higher dose. To help extend the life, I now fill all syringes with the needed dose as soon as I get the medication and immediately place all syringes into the freezer until needed. Now, I take a syringe out about 30 min before needed and it's ready to go. This is working well and my pharmacist said this should extend the shelf-life to 6 months or more.
- After injecting, massage the entire penis and base to help distribute the medication throughout the muscle structure. This will help significantly.
- Stand for the first 5-10 minutes after injection as gravity aids in the blood flow into the penis.
This medication has been a lifesaver for me. I was afraid I'd never see a useful erection again. Now, I'm back to 18 in that regard-- actually better than 18 as my erection stays hard even after an orgasm! Best of luck guys! Be aware that your partner may hide your medication if you use it to often. (-:

I am reposting this from the discussion group “Problems with Trimix” in search of any advice…
I had my prostate removed a year ago and I am still dealing with some urinary incontinence and ED.
I am 69 and I have tried with no success to get an erection suitable for intercourse since the operation. Viagra and Cialis do not work. I recently moved up to Trimix Double strength (30-2-20) and have still been unable to get a proper erection. I tried 30 ml, then 60, then 100ml. without success. I am thinking of trying a low daily dose of Cialis to help, and my pharmacy is mixing up Trimix at the (30-2-50) strength and I will try that. If anyone has any insight into this I’d appreciate advice. It’s been very frustrating.

I replied to this the other place you posted a message so you will have an answer.

You can have an AUS Installed at the same time as The implant so you can resolve your incontinence and erection problems at the same time. One other person in this forum did that.

Here is information on the AUS (Artificial urinary sphincter).

I’m having an AUS installed in June.

@jeffmarc , thanks for your note and the links. It’s a lot to think about as I have been striving to get my plumbing working without further intervention. Please let me know how your AUS procedure goes.

The injection at my urologist to show me how to inject and test the dosage was at .05 cc. I had virtually no response with that. Since everyone is different, you have to experiment. I've tried .2 to .5cc. My initial experimentation was skewed by degradation of the medication until I learned of freezing it in the syringes to prolong shelf life. I think I have it narrowed down between .2 and .3. However, yesterday I used a .3 dose and had a hard erection for a solid three hours. Tough to ask anyone else to "enjoy" that with you for that long. (-:
I should add that I've been using (at urologists suggestion) a vacuum pump during my down time to help keep the blood supply lines open and my T-levels have returned to normal post ADT.

@maverick75, What do you mean by downtime? When do you use the vacuum pump?

I'm 71 as well so I'm pretty interested in your experience. What dose did you start with and what did you end up with?

@retireditguy I started with 5 at first year and I'm up to 15 to 20. I use a 31g 1/2"

@chipe - give your self a hard pinch for a few seconds. That's it. One trick I use is to put an ice cube on the injection spot for a minute
. Takes away some of sting.

@tjv1156 You used the ice before the injection.

I’m considering penile injection for ED. Dr. would prescribe Tri-mix. I’m seeking input from others who have used or explored this treatment option. From experience, how effective has it been and what are side effects/precautions?

I just got trimix and tried my first .05 dose it work great actually for about 35 mins so increasing to .10 next but the shit was actually painless at 10 o'clock on my right side so I recommend anyone having issue with pills as I do and I'm 64 and fairly good heath to get their doctor or Olympia to prescribe this ASAP urife will be relaxed again sexually without worrying about failure and she or he will def be proud of u

@retireditguy yeah I’d really like to know that too. I’ve been using Trimix since March of 26. He started me out on 30. I’ve even gone to 50. It works great, but it will not maintain the erection for me. Certainly not enough that I would feel comfortable attempting sexual intercourse. I’m extremely thankful that I’m still alive. On the flipside of that coin, I didn’t know that I was gonna go from absolutely great to absolutely zero. Still frantically searching for the key that fits that door, my friend.

Does it hurt when you are injecting?

Jump to this post

@chipe the pain level on the injection is pretty insignificant. I think getting your head around what’s really going on is a little difficult. Injecting yourself isn’t normal. However,If it’s the gateway to successful sexual intimacy. Well worth the trade-off for me.

I also started out at 30 and went up to 50 but eventually had it reformulated and then my dose went down to 35 so apparently the formulation has something to do with your dosage. I wasn't getting hard enough and so they reformulated it.
As far as injecting, it is concerned it's mostly just thinking about it. I remember when I was first told about this medication and they told me how it was given. I said there's no way I'm gonna do that but then when I did, I didn't even feel it. When I did feel it, it was very insignificant. I no longer use because of a venous leak. If I stop my prostate meds Viagra or Cialis sometimes work and it's substantially cheaper. About one dollar per pill compared to $40 per injection.

Wait...what?...$40.00 per injection?!?!?!? Dang...they get you anyway they can. Without saying it directly, you infer that Trimix may not be reimbursed by insurance or Medicare??? Please...anyone/everyone...please offer how you pay for your Trimix. Wouldn't it be just like insurance companies and Medicare to "deny" coverage for something that is a direct result of what they paid for with our prostatectomy surgery? Unreal. Thank you.
