Muscle Weakness and Eliquis - How to diagnose/test for cause?
I've always had somewhat loose ligaments but it is getting much worse since taking Eliquis, which I started about 1.5 years ago. I am now 75 years old. I take a low dose but my body is very sensitive to all medications. I am hesitant to get a Watchman, and am wondering if there is some diagnostic procedure to determine if Eliquis is causing the problems of muscle weakness?
I appreciate that many people have posted about this concern of muscle weakness in relation to taking Eliquis - WHAT DO THE DOCTORS SAY???? Mine tend to know very little about this.

I am at the same place you are with Eliquis . I am still working at age 71 and in so much leg pain even at night - unable to sleep because of pain . I have appt next Monday and will get off Eliquis and just take aspirin. I don’t remember how long studies on this drug were but maybe not enough?

2 Reactions@ccolson My neuropathy in left leg has gotten a bit more tolerable with adding a Dr Berg’s B12 capsule to my daily supplement regiment. My Afib is down to 2% or less most of the time. Off of blood thinners and no aspirin recommended by Cardiologist or Electrophysiologist. Still need more weight loss at which AFIB may go away entirely. I still have Left Bundle Branch Block that shows up on nearly every ECG. Hang in there. I say a prayer for comfort from your pain. 💪

1 Reaction@4aces4me My cardiologist had said that once you are diagnosed with afib, you HAVE it, no matter what the current burden....and they want me on blood thinners for the rest of my life. I am 75, female. I was debating whether to wear monitor again and get a new burden reading, as I have changed my homeopathic remedy and I have significantly fewer episodes of afib, that I am aware of. Last reading, about 6 months ago was 4%.

2 ReactionsIf anyone is interested, this article describes the relative risk between burden of AF and the various possible unwanted outcomes:

2 Reactions@devotion I have no false pretenses that my AFIB is gone or will be gone forever. All I know is I’m working with 2 of the very best in our City and 4 months ago the Electrophysiologist said he would not consider an Ablation with a 2% average Burden. With that consultation he and Cardiologist took me off of my blood thinner and did not recommend low dose aspirin. I believe all this decided because mine is Paroxysmal AFIB and my incidents tend to last an hour, maybe 3 and then I’m back in sinus rhythm.
