Anyone Found Help/Explanation for Long Covid Neurological Symptoms?

Posted by robinholly @robinholly, Feb 13, 2022

Has anyone found some help and explanation for their neurological symptoms? Symptoms like tremors, dizziness, difficulty walking, tingling in legs and back, muscles twitches in legs, hand tremors, cognitive dysfunction, ringing in ears, pain and burning in toes and feet. I have these symptoms and more. I have been through MRI of brain and full spine, peripheral nerve testing, muscle function and short fiber nerve tests all in the normal range despite the symptoms. I have been on 900mg gabapentin daily with little improvement, then things got much worse after getting the booster last month. Would love to hear from some that have found help and explanation.

Has anyone heard about European use of the drug Sipavibart to treat long covid?. Rumor has it has been approved for the treatment of long covid there and having "some" success.

Vanderbilt is doing a research study, right now, on a medication to help with "brain fog" which is thought to be neurological. I can't think of the medication they are testing. It is a double blind study and I was asked to be involved, however I don't want to be a guinea pig and have this medication exacerbate my symptoms. I think the medicine is called Barcinibab or something like that.

I have tinnitus now. Been six months. Apparently i had covid again the day after flu shot. Sore throat and cough. Lost taste & smell 4 days in a row. Then ok. But tinnitus started and has not gone away. Depressing and frustrating. ENT did lidocaine profusion. Did nothing. Seems worse. Now trying acupuncture. Different noises every day then may have a quiet day. Something needs to be figured out. It’s very annoying and nerve wracking. All the latest technology and it can’t be figured out?? Online will tell you all kinds of solutions.

@gnana6 Literally "nerve wracking." The virus left inflammation called vestibular neuritis and my autonomic nervous system is misfiring my heart rate and blood pressure.

My doctor doesn't speak of long covid. She speaks only of the individual symptoms and diagnoses.

@dkkco Of course that is what doctors do. It's hard to find one that agrees COVID has caused all kinds of issues. Each case is different. Doesn't seem to be any solutions. We have to do our own research.

What’s your inflammation profile. Look at both your bloom your labs and stool labs. My gut labs from stool sample was off the chart for inflammation markers. It was explained along with brainstem neuro-inflammation as the drivers for my chronic migraine and occipital nerve condition, plus constant dizziness, vision and cognitive issues. Now on LDN and waiting to see if that will help. Others on here have gotten benefit from LDN. One thing my brain scans (MRI & CT) showed was fluid in one bone deep in my skull. There is research published in 2024-25 that showed COVID (and COVID Vaccine) spike protein persistence in brain tissue and bone.

@onpainsufferer Haven't been to any doctor other than ENT. Have yearly wellness soon. Don't know what LDN or anything else you have mentioned.
What are the issues than you are having that you went to a doctor?
