No Evidence of Disease (NED)

Posted by talltxlady @talltxlady, May 15 7:59am

Had my 4.5 years out cystoscopy yesterday. No evidence of disease, Praise God 🙌🙏 he will not send any pathology off this time.
I was so surprised to learn that I will have 1 more cystoscopy in November and after that I go to annual checks done through urine cytology. I'm so happy to learn that!! I thought I had to have annual cystoscopys for the rest of my life. Couldn't have been a better day with better news. Truly feeling blessed ☺️

Happy and encouraging news @talltxlady !

It's always so good to hear of a member's success after traveling a difficult and rough road. Your inner strength and determination has lead you to this point.

May you remain healthy and enjoy each day. It's amazing how those three little initials (NED) can happily alter our lives.

Sending my best wishes.

Why are BCG treatments so uncomfortable. The burning sensation and urgency even with a catheter inserted are very difficult to deal with. I take Uribel (in form of URO-MP), and Oxybutynin. Are there any other remedies for the discomfort?

@tms3 not that I'm aware of. I also took Uribel. I tried a few of the others, but Uribel seemed to help most.
I think part of the reason for the discomfort is because with each BCG treatment the bladder becomes more sensitive. It's essentially Chemo for the bladder.
Stay strong 💪 you got this.
