Sounds like there’s something in your shampoo your body is reacting to. It also could be allergies that is in the air that your body can’t handle. It also could be a form of a dermatology Lichen. Because I have that
I would talk to your doctor and ask to go to a dermatologist who could help you figure this out..

@tisme each body is different. I had bad psoriasis on my scalp which caused intense itching but even after my scalp being cleared after going on Bimzelx injection treatment, my scalp (even cleared of psoriasis plaque) still itched terribly. One day I decided not to use the conditioner and after a few times using shampoo only (I use baby shampoo), my scalp does not itch. At first I thought it was just coincidence but any time I try to use a conditioner my scalp starts itching again.

The downside of my not using a conditioner is “bed head”, of course, but a spritz of water solves that problem for me.

Alot of good comments. Always learn alot here.
I have allergies to all things PEG polyethylene glycol. Believe it or not there are alot of derivatives, over 2000 now. It is an excipient which is put into a cream, lotion, medicine or other and it makes it flow, cream-up, smooth, or just plain get across cell lines. It is synthetic - gas or coal ash - and causes alot of rashes,, reactions. So I found “booda butter” for bath, shampoo, shave - put out by Booda Organics, Inc. in Bellingham WA. No more problems but it’s like $7 a bar at the Co-op here in LaCrosse, WI. For regular soap (hand and body) I use Sappo Hill bars also from the Co-op at $3 a bar. For moisturizer I use Badger Balm in the tin can - put out by WS Badger Co. in Gilsum NH for - are you ready - $10.99 a can. In Winter, it lasts me 1 month. These are all made with olive oil and beeswax. Simple stuff. Back to basics worked for me. Hope this heals and helps. I also had to get my Allegra compounded at Mary Brigh PX on that campus at Mayo. It’s costly but a family member helps. You can find out about the soaps online as you probably aren’t from LaCrosse. Best of healing!

@tisme Nizoral dandruff shampoo with conditioner.
Or any good quality dandruff shampoo with conditioner.
Worked marvelously for my itchy scalp with small crusts after two weeks use.

@tisme have you seen a dermatologist and/or been diagnosed with scalp psoriasis. The plaque on my scalp was caused by psoriasis. Bimzelx injections every eight weeks has kept my psoriasis in check - it’s an autoimmune condition that will never go away but can be kept in control with medications (in my case, Bimzelx). Even after my scalp cleared, however, it still was itchy till I stopped using hair conditioner. Now I just take a Benadryl if I itch anywhere on my scalp or body.
