@mullejo I promise! The side effects will resolve. I experienced every side effect from nausea to worsening anxiety, night time panic attacks... I was ready to give up but at about the 6 week mark everything started to settle. Hang in there. Reach out if you feel the need to chat or you have more questions👍
Thank you for your supportive reply. I’m hopeful that this will resolve. For the most part the nausea is in the morning and by about 2:00 pm it’s better. But mornings are a bit of a bummer. I’ll hang in there. .
Any suggestions for effective medications for MDD?
Need help with with foggy thinking.
I realize that everyone is different.

2 Reactions@myacct123 - hi! I wanted to let you know I moved this post to this discussion on escitalopram (Lexapro) so you could get input from others and perhaps read some post posts from others on this medication:
- Lexapro? Pros and cons, please. https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/lexapro-pros-and-cons-please-1/
Hoping members here such as @mullejo @cooper1990 @dederickve and many others can chime in and talk with you about escitalopram (Lexapro) experiences and what to do with foggy thinking.
I'm guessing that your foggy thinking you are referring to relates to a major depressive disorder medication you've taken, myacct123? Will you share a bit more about the foggy thinking and if it relates to the medication you've been on or to the depression itself?
@myacct123
Been on escitalopram for over 10 years. I had 5 ICD shocks back in 2015 and developed PTSD from it and anxiety/panic disorder. These conditions caused depression.
My Mayo psychiatric medication specialist back in 2015 put me on 10 mg of escitalopram and have been taking it daily since. It did work. I helps bring back your hormone to normal levels that gets affected by stress, anxiety, depression. It is not a drug that goes beyond returning you back to normal.
I know I lost my sister several years ago and did not have trouble dealing with it. My medication specialist said it was the escitalopram. I have not had any side affects from the drug at all. But we are all different and what one person will have side affects from a drug another will not.
Hope this helped and have been on it for over 10 years. I was told it would be a life long drug.
