Duloxetine seems to be causing side effect of noturnal urination

Posted by howleegirl @howleegirl, May 28 5:58am

Husband was given Duloxetine 60mg for neuropathy and anxiety. Doesn't seem to be working all that well. He's been on it for a couple months. What is happening is he is up peeing every hour at night?!?!?!?! Anyone else have this side effect?

Frequent urination at night is not usually one of the most common side effects people think of with duloxetine, but some people do report urinary changes, including increased frequency or difficulty sleeping because they feel they need to urinate more often.

That said, getting up every hour sounds significant and is definitely something worth mentioning to his doctor.

yeah we have. They want him to go to urology.

Please follow up is the duloxetine does anything at all for his neuropathy. I am very skeptical about anything related to helping with it.

@howleegirl According to what I read on the drug, it can be used for pain from diabetic neuropathy. I'm not surprised it's not helped him much.

@howleegirl, has your husband got an appointment with a urologist now? How is he doing?

Still waiting on VA to approve his community care.
