diagnosis or treatment for my 15 year old with tachycardia.

My 15 year old has extremely high heart rates regardless of what she is doing. We are under the care of a cardiologist and have had echo and ekg's done. svt & pots ruled out. stress test done in June & found issue but no diagnosis. Her bp dropped to 82/49 her heart rate at 218. Takes salt daily. She was also cleared to participate in color guard/ marching band. As the competition season continues the following is happening,, she will stay between 189 and 220 for the 15 minute program. Then after ward is very dizzy and short of breath and sometimes extremely zoned out or confused. When they have prelims and finals the same day by the end of the finals her blood pressure is low and catching her breath is sometimes impossible. Then for the next 24 to 72 hours she feels like a train has hit her and is dizzy. The newest symptoms: Her legs feel like jelly & chest tightness. She is not critical enough for the cardiologist to give it much attention. ..

There are two types of sinus tachycardia: normal and inappropriate. Normal sinus tachycardia is a temporary response to a specific factor. Inappropriate sinus tachycardia, on the other hand, has no known cause and can result in an increased heart rate even when resting.

Dysautonomia, Lyme, thyroid, cortisol, hormones (adolescent hormones can fluctuate), mold, eating disorder, POTS (this can be ruled out mistakenly). Nothing structurally wrong with the heart.

You said EKG's were done and no notice by MD but at the same time you yourself cite low bp and high heart rate regardless of what she is doing. Did the cardiologist get your numbers? Are they from a smartwatch? I am confused.

Again suggest functional or integrative medicine. Maybe endocrinologist and/or gynecologist. Infectious disease is better handled with functional medicine in our experience. PCP can do Lyme test but get a Western Blot, not an Elisa and even one Lyme specific band is suspicious regardless of stated result (lymenet, org).

Strongly suggest she give up color guard/marching band while this is investigated. (Is her instrument heavy?) I am surprised she was cleared after that stress test: did the MD ignore those results? Again I don't get it.

It is hard to give up an activity that she loves: my kid with health issues gave up activities in high school and those losses are barely remembered now.

I am so sorry I am going through this now. The past 3 weeks I have been to the hospital ER 6 times and because we don't live close it takes so long for an ambulance to get me there (at least an hour to 1.5) it settles by the time I am there. The doctors keep telling me my heart is healthy so it's fine but the last episode the night before last I almost lost consciousness multiple times and felt like I was going to throw up. I am so weak I have lost 10lbs in 3 weeks and I'm smaller to begin with. My daughter is also 15 and I couldn't imagine if she was going through this. No one is taking it serious even though I can feel in my body that it's getting worse. It took 2 weeks just for them to finally decide to put a monitor on me and it was just a 7 day where they get results back after I turn it in and they said that can take up to two weeks. I have 0 life, even at home I am scared to shower I can't sleep. I wake up every 15 to 40 min scared which makes my HR go up. I feel like everyone is going to keep telling me it's fine until I die I don't know what to do.

I have several types of tachycardia. The worst was super ventricular, tachycardia and was discovered while having a loop recorder placed in my chest. My heart rate was 210 for an hour and 59 minutes. They did an ablation of the chamber in my heart that was causing the tachycardia. However, I do have other arrhythmias as well as atrial tachycardia, and another type of tachycardia. The ablation did help my SVT, but I am beginning to have smaller episodes. I do have coronary artery disease and recently went through a stress test, which I’m waiting for the results on. I have been having a lot of shortness of breath on exertion and my heart rate stays between 93 up to 160.
