Rut Roh Rorge - PSA wrong direction

Posted by mjp0512 @mjp0512, Mar 17 10:44am

ADT / ARSI since June 2025
IMRT Oct 2025

PSA:
4/21/25 - 30.11
7/9/25 - 0.55
8/26/25 - 0.19
12/3/25 - 0.23
3/17/26 - 8.80

Methinks there's a problem. 😮😮😮

Results just popped up on the portal. Haven't heard from the Doc yet but I'm guessing another PSMA PET is in my near future. ALP is pretty high too, so liver or bone mets? Not yellow yet so I'm guessing bone. Maybe an ALP Isoenzyme test to determine source of elevation?

In any case, this sucks a little. 😡

Wow, this guy is not messing around. SBRT simulation scheduled for tomorrow.

Diagnostic MRI, results, and SBRT simulation in less than a week? Wonder if he bought a new boat or something that he has to pay off? 🤣🤣🤣

🤪🤣 for boat, ahahaaaaa... Mine "team" is obviously well padded with crypto - can not make them work for the love of it !!!

PS: Glad you like my new "stormy weather" frog avatar : ))), somehow that cheerful rose was not representing my mood any more - hopefully one day I will be able to change it back 🍀. ; )

Just got back from the sim with 8 new tattoos. They doubled up on each one, so they don't get confused with the ones from last year. Trying to figure out what it looks like if you connect the dots. What do you folks think? If someone comes up with a cool design, maybe I'll go to a parlor and get it drawn in.

OK then...SBRT to L5 will be complete today, 24Gys total. Tuesday's session was pretty much uneventful except for crushing fatigue afterwards. Sat down in the chair when I got home at about 4PM and woke up just in time to go to bed.

Had the obligatory consult with the RO (new one, my guy left the practice). Asked her why the IMRT to prostate in October didn't work. She said she's pretty sure it did and it can take up to 9 months for improvement to be seen on scans, and that my PSA rise is likely to be caused by the L5 met. Didn't feel like arguing that there's only one month left in her nine-month prediction. Bless her heart. She said to expect increased back pain for a few days because of the inflammation from radiation, but it should resolve within a week or two and be gone. Certainly looking forward to that.

GUO appointment on June 2nd so we'll see what the boss thinks.

Strange results.

I had a metastasis wrapped around my L4. They zapped it in three separate sessions. They were trying to avoid damaging the bone,

I was 76 at the time.

I had no side effects at all from the radiation. After the treatment , I noticed nothing in my back, I had no back pain or fatigue. Within two months, my PSA dropped back to undetectable.

It is Interesting how side effects very. I wonder if itโ€™s due to technique. They did have me take 2mg of dexamethasone before the treatment. That may be the reason I had no fatigue. Did your doctor prescribe any steroids before the treatment?

I am so happy to hear that your treatment is going to be completed today ๐Ÿ‘ and that the tiredness was the only SA. As I remember (correct me if I am mixing up something , my brain is scrambled for the past year) you have heart failure also, so it is very understandable that this was exhausting both physically and mentally. Sometimes we are not even aware of what is going on in our subconscious. Long nap was definitely needed and I am sure did good to your body. ๐ŸŒบ Regarding RO, perhaps it is better to have a new one.

Wishing your very fast recovery and super fast disappearance of L5 lesion - may it heal in a perfect way ๐Ÿ€ and may the pain be gone forever ๐Ÿ’—.

@jeffmarc - Hi Jeff...nope, no drugs. Arrive, lay down, get zapped, go home. Pretty wiped out today too. Was going to get the tractor out and mow the lawn but it will have to wait till tomorrow.

@surftohealth88 - Went to bed at 9:30PM last night, woke up at 5 AM this morning...zero back pain for the first time in months!!!!!!!!!! I'm back!!!(for now)

Visit with GUO this afternoon, my guess is it's going to be a big nothing with a PSA test in about a month. If still rising, revised treatment plan afterwards. If showing a downward trend, monthly tests for a while after that. Like I said, just my guess. We'll see.

Oh my god - I am SOOOOO happy to hear that ! ๐Ÿค—

"Good news" - oh how much I crave them and hearing them this morning about your case really did put smile on my face : ))) ! YESSSSSS !!!! IT WORKED ! ๐Ÿ€ And not only is that stupid PC obliterated , you a free from pain and so fast (knock the wood) !!! What a relief : )))) !!! I am sure that your PSA will go down - that spot was the culprit and prostate is probably just glowing due to cells still holding onto their dear life but not for much longer ; ) !

Wishing you wonderful day and thanks so much for sharing !!! ๐Ÿ’– : )))) Please give extra pets from me to your quails : ) - I wish I can have a pet chicken , I find them so cute and endearing but little quails are probably beyond adorable. : )))

Well, I was almost right. PSA in 6 weeks and if still rising, off to chemo I go. Also wants me on Xgeva. I told him that my dentist is probably going to object due to some upper jaw bone loss so he should have another plan.
