The surface signs of psoriasis can be subtle and some patients are unaware they have psoriasis.
There are several screening questions that help point to the diagnosis.
Do you have heel pain or Achilles tendonitis.
Are your fingers or toes swollen or painful.
Do you have morning stiffness that gets better
after moving.
Swollen or achy joints may not be the same on both
sides of your body.
Fatigue and brain fog on occasion.
Enthesitis involves tendons attachments with muscles.
Neck and back soreness.
Itchy scalp and ears or pits on the nails.
Psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis are systemic disorders
that are aggravated by mechanical wear and overuse.

@seniormed
Thank you for your clarity ! Its very helpful. I have been treated for RA for 15 years but am seronegative. I'm wondering (and my doctor wonders) if what I really have is PsA. I can relate to everything you listed.

I am not sure how long I had PsA before dx in 2015 but I am so grateful to have found my rheumatologist. She does ultra scans of the primary joints that are affected. I do not have noticeable psoriasis. My father was covered with it. None of my labs showed notable inflammation, still don’t but scans show some. I am not on any pharmaceutical meds. I take ibuprofen when needed, water exercises, Epsom salt baths when needed and stay as active as possible. I don’t do anything strenuous. Lighter exercise, walking for most part and stationary bike. I had about 5 other rheumatologist run the same labs and get same results until I moved to Florida. I read moist warm heat and sunshine is good for PsA and that info is correct! For me anyway. Stress is a huge trigger for inflammation so I try to not get too excited about things. I pick my battles more carefully now. This dr ran a celiac panel after she did a dexscan as I did have significant bone loss but still not osteoporosis. Said the 2 run hand and hand and sure enough gastro dr confirmed. Wish you the best.
