Coping with Corticobasal Degeneration

Just checking in again. Anyone else have a diagnosis of Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD)?

@mauricetaz hi, my mom has been diagnosed with cbd 2 years ago when her symptoms were minor and now she's wheelchair bound, has speech problems and her right side is stiff with jerky hand movements. I'm mad that there is no explanation as to how and why she got the disease. I just want an answer, I want to know what caused this, I want to understand a bit on how ppl with this disease were living their lives, were they anxious, overachievers, perfectionists? Could it be stress? or is it the vaccine?.....

@mauricetaz Hi, I was diagnosed with CBS in November of 2023. I’ve been to Mayo Clinic several times and am now in a research study. How old is your Mom? Sounds like hers has moved quickly. I have been on a slow pace. Frustrated there are no answers

@geneloff Mayo diagnosed me in Aug 2025 not my mother.symptoms started in 2023. I'm basically wheelchair bound. No balance. Weakness in legs. Left side affected the most. I'm like you, No answers. Just ruling out other diseases.

@yas2min . Sorry to hear about your mom. How old is she. Sounds like her progression was pretty fast. I have it also. Progress is slower. Keep in touch to let us know how she is doing.

I was diagnosed in June 2026. I was previously diagnosed with Parkinson's. I'm on my mid 70's. It sounds like the disease is quite rare.

Haven't heard of this condition. Is it related to the Parkinson's? Glad you posted about this condition. Hope there's some kinds of treatments for you. ♡
