Cbd for treatment- resistant depression

Posted by ceciford @ceciford, May 23 10:04am

Has anyone tried CBD *without* THC? Someone on my medical team recommended a dose of cbd 50mg per day for my depression (treatment resistant). She recommended a few sources that are third-party tested.

I found good quality cbd oil to work overall for many things. It is definitely an anti inflammatory.
The brain has receptors for it (we produce it endogenously) so it is a valid neurochemical. A long ago Israeli study showed that it helps in allowing us to forget (bad) stuff we don't need.
I am definitely better on it than off it (arthritis).
No valid clinical studies have made it into the medically reviewed range, so it's all anecdotal. THC tends to Zombify 🚫. CBD is benign 👍.*

@shmerdloff I’ve been taking 50 ml of CBD oil for neuropathy in my feet. It has helped, but I still feel the swelling in my feet which makes it difficult to walk and balance. Do you have improvement in swelling?

I don't know that cbd oil can do anything for foot swelling. Foot swelling is more associated with other conditions, like heart malfunction. Swelling doesn't necessarily go with neuropathy, so it will be better to be checked out to find the cause, rather than hoping cbd oil will take care of it. The best to you.

You’re right. I mischaracterized the feeling. I should a
Have said a “tightness” or feeling of something wrapped around the inside of my feet which mimics a feeling of tightness.

@shmerdloff I take CBD oil almost daily as it seems to help with sleep and anxiety for me.

I have exactly that! For a long time. Don't know what it is. Have not discussed it with doctors (too many other conditions). Probably death of nerve cells with age-neuropathy, not circulation (had that too with real swelling)
Upside? I can walk barefoot in snow or on hot sand😅. CBD don't fix it.
