Kevzara and wbc
I know kevzara lowers your wbc, but how low is to low.
Mine just came back at 3.8. But I'm also 70 years old.
I'm normally around 8.0

1 Reaction@tweetypie13 are you still at 3 weeks ? And are you b still feeling the same
@ronludington long story short……was able to stop Kevzara totally. Feeling Great and had been for sometime. All blood work good. Rehumy said to retest in2 months of that appt. which sadly said my CRP had gone up. (Inflammation). I delayed (out of denial) and then agreed. Am at biweekly until, next blood test in July. Dont take anything else. Feel good, have the usual morning aches that are usually gone by the bfast dishes.

3 ReactionsI have been on Kevzara since -‘August 2025. I have had 17 injections, the first months every 2weeks. In February my WBC dropped to 3.4 and Neutrophils dropped to critically low. Now I am on once a month injections and my numbers still have not improved. I feel great! No breakthrough pain until I get closer to the end of the ;weeks. I have a blood draw and apt with my Rheumatologist and waiting to hear the results and what she decides to do.

1 ReactionHi Ron. I’m 69. Male.
To offer a bit of comfort, my WBC, since starting Kevzara mid January, 200mg, inj. every 14 days are:
1/29 - 2.78k/uL
2/17 - 2.9
4/1 - 2.6
4/14 - 2.06
5/1 - 4.5
I think reducing my Prednisone to below 5mg/day is the reason my May 1, result finally got into the normal range >3.4.
I will have bloodwork done again June 2. Hopefully it, and some continues to improve.
Best of wishes. Keep us updated.
Randy

1 Reaction@stonewheel I'm surprised they didn't do anything when you were in the 2s. I'm about to drop from 2 down to 1 mg of pred. Just waiting for the withdrawl...
My rheumatologist was reluctant to keep me on the Kevzara but it was the lesser of two evils. Prednisone put me in the ER. I need to be off it and we all agreed. Rolled the die.
You’re doing good. That’s great. Wish I was that close to 1.
I am at 4mg.
40mg to 4mg in six months. Slower now, I’m shooting for 1mg decrease every three weeks.
By September, I hope to be at 1.
Off by November. One year.
@stonewheel well, I've been fighting this for 8 years now, from 60 to 0 back to 40 a couple times... I can't keep track of the swings. Finally on kevzara, 17 shots now... I'm determined to stay off of pred this time, even if I'm not at 100% relief. I say good luck to you ! Actually to all of us on this terrible journey.

I hope you can stay off now.
Keep us informed.
Been on Kevzara for a year. I've been off Prednisone for almost 6 months now so it's doing its job. My WBC, RBC, and Neutrophils are all dropping fairly low. Also, I have Smoldering Myeloma and my IgG and IgM, low since my first blood tests to diagnosis 6 years ago, have fallen to really low levels. My heme onc is looking at me starting IVIG although I haven't been getting infections. Approximately 10% of people with those low levels of immunoglobulins are not stricken with infections regularly (I feel lucky).
