LPR causing anyone with severe migraine like headache?

Posted by kneenee @kneenee, May 25 10:38am

Happened to me 2x in last 2 months. Headache so bad couldn't drink anything, do anything nor eat for most of the day and did vomit 1x this time, last time 2x! Sometimes I wake with stuffed nostril. I now sleep with adjustable bed more upright as this helps relieve nostril pressure. I also use neck pillow as tight neck when turning head side to side. . I'm also experiencing minor TMJ when chewing food. Is this all LPR? I should probably try harder to get off coffee! Look into foods to avoid! Frustrating dealing w this along w all my joint issues🙃

Have you checked about getting a mouthguard for your TMJ? The reason I ask, a lady I worked with had horrific
headaches from bruxism and the mouthguard took care of it.

Praying for you to get better. Blessings....

Bruxism? Have to look up. I've had about 4 nightmares. New one 4 months ago. I honestly think it's LPR.

@kneenee Bruxism is grinding your teeth in your sleep which goes along with TMJ. A mouth-
guard helps with this. Your dentist will make a mold for a mouthguard for your top teeth. Usually insurance will not cover it.

Take note if you clench your teeth during the day too.

I am familiar with LPR. I battle reflux, but, not silent reflux. I also get back-up reflux if I eat after 6 at night. Is the head of your bed elevated so that you are not sleeping flat? Wooden blocks under each side of the head of the bed helps me greatly. Also, I take Protonix for reflux
and 1 Pepcid AC at night. If I have breakthrough reflux during the day (hurts like the dickens)
I chew 2 Gaviscon Cherry tablets (per the nurse) and it goes away.

Watch the foods that you eat that can trigger reflux.

Praying for answers and relief for you.
