One year Since my RARP and my PSA is <0.080 ng/mL

I just got my result back of my 6 month PSA/ one year post op and it's

<0.080 ng/mL
Reference Range: 0.080-4 ng/mL

Which means I am cancer free! :), for now. I am beyond thrilled. 🙂

I see how it can be confusing but his result is "less" than 0.08 which means that that particular lab does not measure levels that are lower than 0.08 and thus "less than 0.08 " is considered undetectable.

Not trying to be a buzz kill here...

Words and their definitions, meanings...are important..."cancer free" may not mean the same thing as "undetectable...."

The former implies you are cured, which, we "hope" that you are.

As one of my early mentors would say, "hope is not a method...!"

That being said, undetectable based on the measurement capabilities of the lab is a good thing, enjoy, stay vigilant, it's a long road.

I remember one of the nurses instructing me about that: “Never say cancer-free, never say cured. You’re neither and you never will be. Your cancer is undetected, so you can say that or say no evidence of cancer at this time.”
