Lower chronic severe right leg pain

Posted by msladytee7 @msladytee7, Apr 9 1:09am

Hello, my name is MsLadyTee7, I am new to the group and very glad to be here. I have severe lower right leg pain and been experiencing it for over a year, went to several doctors which one did MRI and showed that bulging disc was pressing on the sciatic nerve and that causes excruciating pain in my lower right leg. Thru prescribed me every medication in the book to give me some relief but nothing has helped. This for of pain in my leg burns, pinches and throbs constantly limiting my ability to stand or walk sometimes only minutes at a time. I am in constant pain and wonder if anyone else is experiencing this issue or something similar and if so what have you relief. I don't know how much longer I can continue to function with this type of pain in my leg. Please if anyone have any suggestions or answers please respond. Thank you all so much and again in so glad to be a part of this group.

@heyjoe415 thank you for replying it is nice to have the support ! I went to Dartmouth for my knees and they said there are like pot holes in the patella which aren't bad enough for a full replacement. I could push for a patella replacement but the other parts are showing partial wear and I think they will need replacement in the next few years so I am just going to wait. The PT has helped the knees it is just overall systems issue at this point ! I agree it is neuropathic on the foot and sometimes the full leg is heavy. We will see if the brain MRI shows anything - that will be the final test and then I will just manage until the parts start to wear out. I have bad reactions to cortisone so try to avoid that.

Sounds like a good plan SZ. I hope you don't have to wait too long while you are in pain.

I have been ecstatic with my TKRs. No pain, and I'm in the gym everyday.

Best wishes!

Joe

Have you tried the painphysioterapeut? He / she helps the muscles to relax, because they are in tension because of pains (and make you to suffer more).

so sorry you are suffering with this pain. I have stage 4 ESS cancer and the chemo has destroyed my bones, especially my hip bones and spine. I developed neuropathy shortly after I started chemo. It is a horrible pain that keeps me from walking long distances and it really causes balance problems. I tried gabapentin and that helped but eveything I read about it frightened me. Long term use looks like a risky thing to do. I have been able to reduce my pain by using natural medical-grade cannabis gummies. I use Hye Harvest because they are certified, legal, grown with organic soil and manufactured with low to no sugar. In fact you can read the quality testing of the plants used, right on their website. I like to take one if the pain is just coming on but at night if I wont be able to sleep, I take two. Nice peaceful rest (my goal is a solid 8 hours every night) and no groggy feeling in the morning like from sleep aids. If you find other natural and holistic treatments or supplements I would love to know about them. Good luck. Sending you healing energy.
