Have you tried Montelukast?

My current pulmonologist says I have asthma, and my old Dr says reactive airways. Both can cause elevated eosinophils. I also have Bronchiectasis (BE). I have had relief from Advair but it's steroids, which is a problem with the BE, so he put me on AirSupra and use as needed-in an attempt to lower my steroid use. Years ago, I went on Montelukast, 10 mg and my inflammation was dramatically reduced, but it made me nauseated. So, now with the BE diagnosis, I am going to try the Montelukast again. I started with 5 mg at night and will increase to 10 mg and take a few hours before I go to bed.

@363 Thank you! I'm sorry it didn't work for you. I hope you get some relief. The AirSupra helps somewhat, but Advair worked better for me but that's a lot of steroids- which aren't good for those with BE.

I have eosinophilic pneumonia and asthma and use a combo of Symbicort (2 puffs twice a day) and Pulmicort (1 twice a day). I tried airships and just albuterol but they were not helpful.. The pulmicort was added to help me wean off prednisone and it is working. Hoping to go to just Symbicort by year end. I also take 300 mg of Nucala and that helps as well.

@363 right now nothing. I am in the process of being worked up again by the pulmonologist. However I could take it as long as I took tamulosin with it. I just don't like the idea of taking another drug just so I can get rid of a side effect from the first one.
