Does anyone have short bowel syndrome?
5 years ago I had a small intestines blockage and had to have all but 2 feet of my small intestines removed. I was on TPN and a feeding tube for a couple years years now I am eat food. I am able to eat most foods except raw vegetables and high fiber foods.
Over two years ago I started having constant abdominal spasms and constant nausea, doctors don't know what is causing it. The spasms feels like someone is twisting my insides and some pressure. Nausea medications don't help with the nausea.

@lisalucier All of the GI doctors in the town that I live in are all in the same office. I have seen my PCP about my heart issues and he also don't know what to do, had some heart tests done and some have came back abnormal but not serious problems.

2 ReactionsDo you have short bowel syndrome? What types of food do you eat to gain weight? I am on a high calorie, high carb, high protein, low fiber diet. Because of my health issues, I can't cook things that have a lot of prep or standing at the stove cooking. So I need easy food/meals ideas.

2 ReactionsI have been doing IV fluids 5 days a week. One litter LR fluids a day. I can't tell a difference with doing the IV of fluids 5 times a week. I still have symptoms every day, no change in my symptoms.

1 ReactionSince I am not being treated for my Short Bowel Syndrome, I am getting more health problems. My symptoms are not being treated in a medical way. My health conditions are getting worse.
Since I am not being treated for Short Bowel Syndrome, I am getting more health problems. My health issues are getting worse. Doctors don't know how to treat my health issues so I continue to suffer all the time. Even with a high pain tolerance level I continue to suffer all the time. It is hard to live alone and doctors don't care.

2 ReactionsIt is getting very frustrating because my doctors don't seem to care about my health issues. I suffer all the time with symptoms and I am not being treated for my health issues/symptoms. Doctors don't understand what Short Bowel Syndrome is and how to treat it. With Short Bowel Syndrome test results can be wrong. I have a high pain tolerance so I look fine eventho I am not fine. I suffer all the time with: abdominal pain, nausea, fatigue, loss of appetite, fast heart beat, heart palpitations, leg spasms. My symptoms are not related to stress or anxiety. My doctors want to think that my symptoms are related to stress and anxiety but that isn't true.

1 ReactionIs there anyone else that have short bowel syndrome? If so what are your treatments? I have short bowel syndrome, I only have 2ft of my small intestines left but I have all of my large intestines. I am not on much treatments. I have IV fluids 5 times a week to help with dehydration. I am not being treated for my abdominal pain, nausea, loss of appetite, weakness, dizziness, heart palpitations. I am trying to gain weight but it's not happening. My abdominal pain level is a 6 with a high pain tolerance level. My abdominal pain even wakes me up at night.

2 ReactionsSaw a NP GI provider today didn't get much answered to why I continue to have constant ongoing symptoms because of my short bowel syndrome. So I will have to continue to suffer every day,all the time symptoms. Constant abdominal pain, constant nausea, diarrhea, fatigue, loss of appetite, fast heart beats, some shortness of breath. Doctors want to treat my short bowel syndrome as IBS, I don't have IBS. My symptoms don't get better or go away they are always there.
