I really think I need to relocate for cancer treatment
I have had numerous bad experiences with the cancer facility. Now I’ve been waiting over one month without treatment while I waited for a biopsy getting sicker and sicker. I don’t know why they couldn’t have asked for an emergency or an expedited biopsy. I finally got the biopsy done but now waiting to hear back from them. They have many bad reviews on google. I’m wanting to relocate for my treatments but have very little savings and feeling very sick. Any ideas what I can do?

anan0,
If you or a loved one needs information or resources about clinical trials, the Patient Care Center can help. Contact the Komen Breast Care Helpline at 1-877-465-6636 or email clinicaltrialinfo@komen.org. There are some newer drugs for metastatic breast cancer.

6 ReactionsI don’t know where you are receiving your treatment, but I am at the Mayo in Phoenix. This place is incredible and amazing. I highly recommend giving them a call and seeing what they can do for you.
You don’t know if you don’t ask
There is inexpensive housing in Mesa and surrounding areas if you look in this retirement communities.
There are literally hundreds of these retirement communities in this area that offer a reasonable alternative to the high cost of housing. Good luck! I moved here from New Mexico because there was no good Healthcare where I was plus the Mayo can’t be beat. At least that’s my opinion.

10 ReactionsThere is no reason it should take more than just a few days for biopsy results to be given. I had received my cancer treatment at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. I would recommend them, or any of the Mayo Clinics, in a heartbeat. If you are not getting the care and attention that you need, and quite frankly deserve, (I will try to keep it clean) be the worst pest they have ever seen. There are so many agencies and organizations that can help if you need financial assistance. If your doctor isn't any help, check with places like some local health clinics or perhaps public health can connect you with someone that can help. Maybe even someone in an office at your local hospital can steer you in the right direction. YOU are important and you matter. You should not have to suffer. If I could, I would give you the biggest hug and make sure you know that there are lots of people out there who care and are willing to lend a hand. I pray that you find that help. May God bless you.

12 Reactions@jmhwmt51 Thank you! I’m actually very emotional reading this. It’s exactly how I have been feeling very alone and scared. I’m going to look into the Mayo clinics. Thank you for the encouragement.

4 ReactionsNot being treated for cancer must of hit wrong reply can't get out of this on phone.
Hey everyone. I think I just need to get this out. I’m still waiting for my appointment with the doctor. And it has been over one month in agony with no pain meds or treatment. Left several messages of different kinds. The lymph nodes in my neck have started to swell up and are really painful. I have my appointment for tomorrow finally. I’m really concerned about this cancer facility. I hope the doctor will not delay my treatments further. I feel nauseous too. The first time I went here I became disabled from the wrong treatment strategy. That’s why I didn’t want to go back there in the first place. Now this time waiting over one month with no treatment or pain support. I really wish I had the energy to go somewhere else.

1 ReactionContact Mayo Clinic closest to you and send in your specifications and what they recommend you to do immediately for relief of the pain and the cancer you have going on. Do not wait a longer wait. The harder is to treat. I wish you the best of luck I made it through stage four colorectal cancer and wish you the best of luck. I prayed every day to the blessed mother for her and her son’s blessings and help.

3 Reactions@anon0 Is there a Memorial Sloan Kettering nearby? Excellent doctors.
Before a doctor can see patients, they have to submit for a Pre-Auth. Depending on the insurance you have, private or medicare, it can take while. If the pre-auth is not approved, doctors have to find another way. Same goes for treatment, if pre-auth is denied, the doctors have to keep trying to auth before they can get you in.
With Mayo, you have to request a consultation. They will review your case and check insurance. Mayo will not automatically take patients but its worth trying.
