2:30 am wake-ups

What do you do about 2:30 am and 3:30 am wakeups? Lately, I am able to get to sleep at 10:30 pm (a GREAT improvement!), but now I wake up way too early.

Sometimes, I wake up then too. I try to return to sleep asap. If I can’t, I just read or watch tv. Eventually, i fall asleep within the hour. It’s improving as I get less stress in my life.

I’m going through the same for a long time, I fall asleep around 11:00 pm., wake up at 12:30 am, 2:00 - 3:00 am and finally 5:00 am, it always remains the same and started happening after trying a new antidepressant 4 months ago. I also have brain zaps and headaches with neck pain, I don’t remember what a good night’s sleep is anymore. I saw the doctor yesterday and I signed up for physiotherapy to see if it helps, I don’t want to start on any more meds and I just use Tylenol extra strength for pain, it’s just miserable when you can’t sleep properly and affects your whole day.

I take 150mg. of Trazodone before bed and sleep through, about 7 hours

Some people take 3 mg gummy of melatonin when they wake up and it sometimes helps them to get back to sleep. You may have to get up and sit up for a while, but NOT with lights on!!! No phone or other screens, no TV....just sit up and contemplate. Then, after 30 minutes or so, return to the bed and get comfortable. You may find yourself awakening after daybreak. Bonus!

I’ve had this issue since I turned 12 - I am now 70. I’ve tried many medications, biofeedback, you name it. I start a new medication and it might work for several months but then I’m right back where I started. Doctors can’t figure out what is causing it or how to get me long lasting relief. Last thing that worked was NUMO sleep gummies - but only worked for 5 months. I’m currently averaging about 2 to 5 hours per night. I hope you find something that works for you.

Sometimes, I have good results. Last light I fell asleep easily at 9:00 p.m. and slept until 7:00 a.m,! I got up once to use the bathroom. I feel quite rested.

Search for this topic under this support group: LDN low dose naltrexone helped my insomnia.

I suffered from terrible insomnia, often waking in the middle of the night and not being able to fall back asleep. I started taking LDN for my fibromyalgia. It helped with that disease and also helped my insomnia.

I tried trazidone 50 mg. which only helped me sleep 4 hrs. Then 75 mg slept for 5 hours. I didn't want to go any higher. Then one night I was tired and naturally fell asleep till I woke up at 1:00 to go to the bathroom. Then I took 75 mg., and slept normally till morning. It's worked every night since then.

Personally, i consider 5 -6 hours a full nights rest.
I have gotten up at 2-3 for many years myself.
