@patjack2 check out harbor health in Gloucester ma. They do the rems scan there
Get into an osteoporosis exercise group. there is one in concord ma and lexington ma. Take a good supplement. I take algaecal plus/no strontium. Eat 5-6 prunes a day, Eat onions, gets a rems scan gloucester ma. no radiation $250 (better than a dexa) Consider going whole foods plant based
@nhubbard1 I am so sad to hear this.Hopefully the reclast side effects will deminish. I chose no meds and there is no guarentee no matter what we do. I went for osteoporosis exercise class, walking lifting weights and algae cal plus ...next dexa scan on june 2 and rems scan in august. I will keep u in my prayers.

1 Reaction@paint4me I am taking algaecal plus no strontium...next dexa on June 4 will let you know if i have improvement.
Bone Mineralization Issues: Because strontium is denser than calcium, it accumulates in bones, which can cause them to appear denser on DEXA scans, masking the actual bone health. Long-term, high-dose usage may interfere with normal bone development and strength.

Please see Margaret Martin's comments about the latest research on the Echolight REMS technology:

A bit disappointing but perhaps it will spark something better to come out...
Hope this is helpful

2 Reactions@j1976 Thanks for posting this link to this sobering REMS research. We had REMS done in January and the research outcome is disappointing as you said.
Love your upbeat "... perhaps it will spark something better to come out..."
Here is an EXCERPT to tempt others to also read this:
"Age and weight alone explained over 90% of the variance in REMS-BMD. To put that in perspective, when researchers built a simple formula using nothing but the patient’s age and weight, that formula alone could predict more than 90% of the REMS bone density result and more than 95% of the femoral neck fragility score. That leaves very little of the result that could be coming from the actual ultrasound measurement of your bone. By comparison, when the same kind of formula is applied to DEXA, age and body composition only predict about 20–50% of the result, the remaining 50–80% reflects real differences between one person’s skeleton and another’s."
