Remission - how often does this occur?
Having recently begun the bladder cancer journey this past June (oddly enough I had just turned 80), I am now wondering about the possibility of remission and how often it occurs.
I would appreciate hearing from those who have experienced this and am hoping there will be many responses.
Types of Remission:
Complete Remission: This means that all detectable signs of cancer have disappeared. Tests, physical exams, and imaging scans show no evidence of the disease. However, this does not guarantee that all cancer cells are gone, as some may remain undetected.
Partial Remission: In this case, some cancer signs remain, but there has been a significant reduction in the size of the tumor or the number of cancer cells. Patients may experience fewer symptoms, and the disease is considered to be more manageable.
Wishing all members success with their various treatments and/or RC.

Thank you for your suggestion but I believe I must deal with this on my own without any outside assistance other than my urologist. I am considering a suggestion made by a wise woman to consult another doctor and see what his take would be.
I had my cystoscopy a month after I had completed the 6-BCG treatment sessions and what was indicated was a lot of inflammation and two areas which are perhaps also "inflammation" (although I doubt that) so in 6 weeks I am scheduled for another cystoscopy as well as this week I will be submitting my urine for a cytology exam next week. Depending upon what the cytology report shows and the next scope, a determination will have to be made as to the next step.
I need to bolster myself since I have accepted this diagnosis and no matter what others helpfully advise, I still must handle all which comes with this disease. As the phrase goes "The only way out of difficulty is through it" and what else can we do?
Again, thank you for your input, I appreciate it and let me wish you success with whatever treatment modality you are having.
If I may ask, how are you handling your bc diagnosis and what treatments are you undergoing?
Sending along my best wishes.
Bobbie
Hi, my last 2 Blue Light Cystoscopy’s, a year apart, have shown no cancer.
Have appointment with Urologist shortly, but was told they are “playing it by ear now”.
I had full set of BCG but didn’t work for me, then full treatment of Gem/Doc which has worked as I have been cancer free for over a year now.
I assume they will keep doing checks using the Blue Light?
I am 83.

You must be so pleased. It is certainly encouraging to hear that in light of BCG's failure, the Gem/Doc was successful.
May this continue and I am sending my best wishes.
