Has anyone taken more than 4.5mg of LDN?
I had been taking LDN for 3-4 months at 4.5 mg. I was still having pain mostly all day every day. Couldn’t get on doctor website to refill so stopped it for about 1 1/2 weeks. Then got it again, asked doctor if it was possible to take 6mg. She said I could try it and if tolerated should would change my dose to 6mg. So I’m taking 4.5 pill and a half. Yesterday was a good day in regards to pain. Does anyone know if it’s okay to take more than 4.5mg?

Call your pharmacy and ask the pharmacist. I get my LDN from a compounding pharmacy and they have been very helpful with questions about the medication, doses, etc.
Here is a link to my compounding pharmacy, which has info on LDN. There is a brochure you can open and it says that a doctor "discovered significant positive clinical effects when prescribing Naltrexone at LOWER DOSES (0.25-8.0 mg). However, I would talk to my pharmacist before increasing my dosage about the usual 4.5mg.

1 Reaction@daisy17 thank you! You are so helpful. I spoke to the pharmacist. He said it’s fine, if it’s well tolerated. He compounds 6 mg and more to other patients. I don’t know if it’s a fluke or if I’m just having a couple of good days (rare), but I’ve had almost no pain in the last couple of days. It’s only been 3 or 4 days since I started 6 mg. We’re going on 2 days of severe weather change and was cringing at thought of posible flare.

1 Reaction@jeannesf1 I'm so glad it's helping! Fibro is such a terrible disease. It's a blessing to find a medication that helps without a lot of side effects.

1 Reaction@daisy17 I've taken 6 mg for over a year. The Doc suggested I increase from 4.5 to see if it helped more. He said they're going up to 20 mg at Stanford.

2 ReactionsI progressed from 3mg to eventually 20mg with no ill effects and no benefits though. I stopped taking naltrexone all together 3 months ago and noticed my balance was worse. So I started again at 6 mg and got a bit better. However, I still am very dizzy all the time that I am standing.

2 ReactionsRight now the 6 mg is really working well for me. Pain wise and depression just about gone. Have you been tested for POTS. Also causes dizziness when standing. My niece has it and she even has to sit by stove when cooking. Another mystery illness. It came upon her after she got Covid.
