Constant dizziness/imbalance

Posted by Chester @chester, Jul 21, 2011

I'm a 47 year old male, and I've been experiencing a non-spinning dizziness/imbalance feeling for over ten months now. It all started after having a sinus and ear infection. I've had and MRI of the head, balance testing, blood tests for any deficiencies, heart tests, all of which are negative. I am suppose to see a neurologist next. Anyone else having similar problems?

I was familiar with the disease. My father had it and refused to get treated and went through hell while he dealt with dementia then death.

I have been getting monitored for it. I don’t have it, but thought about that disease too,

Hasn't anyone in the medical field suggested BPPV? I had this and someone can help you with the manipulation. I printed out the page out of Mayo Clinic's website and do it myself when it comes back.

Out of the blue 14 months ago I suddenly got dizzy and it has been constant since then. Have seen several doctors and have had MRI, blood work,,balance testing, etc. It is frustrating. Have been to 2 neurologists and recently saw a third one who put me through alot of testing in his office. Should get his report next week.
One doctor thought I might have an acoustic neuroma. Another mentioned cerical vertigo. Am 58 and now unable to drive.

Do not give up. If you live near a big city find a dizzyness specialist. If you are not near a big city go to Mayo.

I live near a big city and a cardiologist said to go to Mayo and he could not find anythong causing the dizzyness.

@claudia11 welcome to the group, sorry for your dizzy spells and still looking for a answer. Mine is as of now, ps I can't drive yet either. With me it's a combination of meds and glasses, or better put vision loss left eye pheferial vision. I also know that some times I need to adjust my neck to get the circulation back and proper blood flow. I turn 70 this year and even with all I have been through the past few years and recently been through, I have this amazing way of being in a good mood and just happy to be alive and improving every month. Chiropractor can help as a massage therapist can also. I've had them all. Just giving you ideas for to check out. Have a wonderful and blessed day today 🙏 😊
