Chronic Pain, alternative Treatment

Posted by CiPaul @cipaul, Jul 11, 2017

I have had chronic pain for 17 years. I know what I'm going to say will be met with doubt, but please try what I say, even though it is not completely backed up by sceince. I was on heavy doses of OPIOIDS for 16 years with no help, relieveing my pain, then I started to take Kratom, for the last year I have been Pain Free!!! If you try it , you will have to try different strains, to find out what works best for you

Bless your sweet soul, @grandmar . You are really having a time of it. I certainly hope you get some relief soon so that you can get around and be with your family. But they love you, and I'm sure they are glad to have you around, period.

Healing energy and prayerful thoughts sent your way!

Amen! I've been a "chronic pain patient" for just over 15 years and I can honestly say that I have never taken any medications that made me high or made me want to take more cuz they made me "feel good". I had Fentanyl patches and Tramadol. They did a good job of relieving the pain I have. I've been told that if you actually have pain the medications do what they are supposed to. If you don't have pain and are taking them as a recreational drug then it makes you feel high and works differently.

I have suffered for over 40 years with fibromyalgia. Pain medication is becoming harder to receive prescriptions for from doctors who are worried about the DEA, etc. I have just read about Kratom. Does anyone have any experience with this supplement? I'd like to find something that eases forty-years worth of pain. Thank you.

Have you tried any other alternative treatments or therapy to help with the pain?

Hi @mstejt I wanted to join @johnbishop in welcoming you to Connect. You may have noticed I moved your post to the discussion John suggested so that you can talk to others who have discussed alternative treatments.

I wanted to repeat John's question in asking if you have tried any other alternative treatments or therapy to help with the pain?

Hello @my4kids2019 -- welcome to Connect. Here's what the National Institute of Drug Abuse has to say about Kratom.

I agree with Paul. I take a small amount 2 x daily. It helps the worst of my spinal pain some. Worth investigating! Lots of info and support groups on the net.regarding kratom.

Has anyone ever been treated by a Physiatrist? They treat chronic pain, rheumatology, spine and brain injuries and more. They don’t preform surgery. They do pain management and other rebab treatments.

Anyone who wants to know more about Kratom should watch "A leaf of faith" on Netflix.
