Everything makes me anxious
I have OCD
And I constantly think people are lying
I obsess over carcinogens (I bought stuff from shein a year ago and still haven't opened it bc I heard there's carcinogenic stuff in it? I bought some acrylic stands, a few keychains, and a little plush)
I get annoyed easily due to it
I can't take reassurance. What do I do?

Everything has carcinogens, why not try simply try going au natural! Vegan lifestyle is pretty safe, Mediterrean food diet and vegan diet are the safest. Vinegar in water in a spray bottle is safe and natural for cleaning. Maybe see a healthcare professional for your worries and how to lessen them. Read labels and look for the safest products. And yes, people do lie, and it can be hard to tell who is not sometimes. If you suffer from anxiety, it is helpful to see a psychologist. They can help you find yourself. You're worth it. Good luck my dear.

2 ReactionsAnxiety can be quite distressing. Have you discussed it with your doctor? There are different ways to treat it. Talk therapy helped my anxiety a lot. I had incredible results. Meds help some people. Anxiety runs in my family. I will say that getting answers or reassurances about something that’s bothering you, like the products you ordered, rarely helps. I hope it does with you, but usually there is no amount of reassurance that will satisfy. Good luck with getting some help. Every day is so much better without the anxiety.

4 Reactions@ehdog so sorry to hear that your anxiety has been acting up lately. That sounds very tough not to be able to do small things in life like taking people at their word.
Are you able to get therapy or medication for your conditions? It may be worth discussing a new treatment plan with your doctors.
Unfortunately I have a lot of experience with anxiety. One thing is that there isn’t enough reassurance in the world to take away anxiety. What has helped me is CBT, which helps me recognize that I’m able to cope with the things that worry me.
If you’re interested in the basics of CBT, Dr. David Burns has some bestselling books that explain many of the concepts. You can find them at your local library (“Feeling Good”) is a classic.
You can also use his free app, Feeling Great, which is very simple to use and walks you through things on your phone.
I hope you start to feel better soon.

2 ReactionsDid you notice what Mayo says about OCD?
If not, here's how it starts: "Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) features a pattern of unwanted thoughts and fears known as obsessions. These obsessions lead you to do repetitive behaviors."
That's a lot of use of your brain resource -- for an UNWANTED mental activity.
Add onto it the PHYSICAL part of REPETITIVE acts.
That's a lot of TIME...OUT of YOUR life.
All this WITHOUT and monetary, emotional or psychological reward?
I am not sure ANYONE can AFFORD this...Yes, even if you don't have to worry about food, rent, the basic human needs.
But we also have Non-material Human needs, such as need to feel one is useful and not dispensable. WE WANT to feel we MATTER...even as children, especially as teens and young adults.
This is why schools are for -- to help us carve out what WE are uniquely gifted with, or good at, or enjoy doing, later on, whether at work or missions in groups or alone. to feel having lived the LIFE -- the one life -- we'all are given with 24 hrs, no questions asked.
It's up to us to use it such that we feel Good, even Proud, to have used it in ways that made this world of our a Little Better, however small.
I need this Each day to feel good, and feel bad if I did not, which happens occasionally, but no time to fret, get back quickly on with what this one life has in stock to make Each of us feel Good enough -- after an hour, a day or each year as you kept going pursuing what Matters You as Your Purpose-of-life.
This is the life that awaits us as we claim our rightful place in this sea of humanity, only doing Our best -- enjoying each moment. End is NOT important, nor it is assured. So let's spend each hour as fully as we never feel bad looking back. This Rollo May's insight, too, an existential psychologist, who authored many books in the last century.
I look forward to a life of promise and surprise as you surmount what's in your journey forward, getting healthier, stronger and JOYFUL!
