Had an EuS after discovery cyst on my pancreas! Anyone else?

Posted by sivie @sivie, Jan 16 6:10pm

Results came back non-malignant but CEA of fluid was high blood marker CA-19 was negative 0.1!
No symptoms! Have Cat scans 6 months!
Getting checked in March again! Just wondering if anyone has a similar problem!

I had a similar situation. Because my mother died of pancreatic cancer and I had been having all kinds of GI problems, my doctor order a CA-19 test. The results showed a CA-19 high. I was prescribe an MRI and a EUS. The studies showed multiple bening cysts in my pancreas. Now, after 5 yers of MRIs, they know I have 12 cysts, no change during all this years. But they want me to have an MRI every year.

So glad your cysts have been benign all these years especially given your family history. I love your message since I’m about to have an EUS due to suspicious findings on my MRI MRCP. Gives me more hope of a benign condition. MRIs are easy. It’s just the waiting for the results that is hard. I’d rather not do an EUS because of anesthesia and being invasive so I hope I’ll just be back to MRIs after this.

Hope all stays well for you too @sivie

my husband was diagnosed last fall, also had the EU's procedure and is to be monitored every 6 months for a year and then if stable at a year. now he is having issues with his Liver. He was diagnosed with Lymphoma in 2018 with accompanying Smoldering Myeloma. We aren't close to his Dr. so we do tele-med visits with his oncologist. Now he is having issues with his Liver. I pray a lot!

@mercellort did the EUS reveal the cysts were benign?
My husband has had 3 EUS’s, all show atypical cells, but they want to do a Whipple anyway.

Yes, they told me that the cysts look benign, but that I should have an MRI every year, because that could change any moment. Last summer I had my 5th MRI and so far, nothing has change. I have to mention that on my own choice I don't eat junk food, minimum process food, as much as I can I eat organic, no gluten, no dairy, only avocado and olive oil, avoid plastic containers. As a result I don't have inflamation.

@sivie It is great news that it is non malignant. I don't know what high fluid numbers mean. Do you know what fluids are high? Thanks.

No I do not obviously drs do not either but blood markers negative and cat scan unchanged so we just watch it! No symptoms!
I really do not want a whipple procedure unless there is no other choice! My dad died after that procedure he was in so much pain! His tumor was not malignant either but resting or floating on the bile duct and when it went down he would get jaundiced and sick! Mine is a cyst so I just don’t know hopefully it will not bother me in the time I have left in the earth!
