Has anyone had any luck with supplements to shrink prostate?
I’ve got an enlarged prostate. I’ve heard about all kinds of products that will shrink prostate but have a hard time believing these claims as the pitchmen for them don’t seem believable. My Urologist doesn’t seem very helpful and dismisses everything but hasn’t suggested a procedure ye. Just want to see if anyone has had luck with these supplements v

I have just bought 6 month's supply of Saw Palmetto and I have been taking "Mega Calcium-D" (Calcium Carbonate: 1500 mg, Containing Calcium (?) 600 mg and Vitamin D3: 200 IU) for 3 1/2 years - as recommended by a doctor for Myasthenia gravis (along with 2 other medicines). Upon searching online, I have found that for over 70-year olds, it is recommended (for prostate health) to take Vitamin D3 800 IU per day, so I will focus on this for the moment.

I have tried "Prostate MD" and continue to take it. It has most of the usual recommended ingredients. I have tried the pollen from Switzerland - it bothered my heart. I have also taken Kelp to increase flow rate.
However I did not have any success until I found "Pygeum Africanum" from Solaray - 50mg capsules.
(I seriously do not know how I missed this amazing herb for Prostate problems in my initial research. I even received a bottle of it by accident from Swanson when I ordered Pumpkin seed oil two years ago!
I take 2 of the Solaray Pygeum 50mg capsules twice a day ~ 12 hours apart.
The second night - I slept through the night! Now after 4 weeks of taking this supplement with "Prostate MD" I can report that I my prostate has shrunk! I can not empty my bladder!

Should have been: "I am happy to report that my prostate has shrunk! And I CAN empty my bladder!"
Note: I started learning about "Alternative Medicine" in 1997. I read James A. Duke's book "The Green Pharmacy" and stopped taking Alopurinol for Gout with its side effects and started taking Celery Seed instead. Also I have no stake in Solaray. However since 1979 when I started taking Colloidal Minerals and other nutraceuticals - I found Solaray to be the most effective. And that is why when I stumbled across the Pygeum information on the Web I went to my local health food store and picked up a bottle of Solaray Pygeum.
