Chest pain correlating with Focal Seizures

Posted by lzbthtyler @lzbthtyler, 23 hours ago

Hello,
I have temporal lobe aware seizures. I take 100 mg of Brivact twice a day and 250 mg of Xcopri once a day. I have 2 questions.
1. Has anyone experienced chest pain before or after a temporal lobe aware seizure?
2. Has anyone experienced elevated Lipase levels taking Xcopri?

Hi Elizabeth!
I've experienced chest pain after a few strong focal seizures, but always ones with impaired consciousness — what used to be called complex partial seizures. I've never had this during auras or focal seizures with preserved consciousness, as they're called nowadays.
I've experienced abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and a swollen abdomen with some other AEDs — Vimpat and Keppra — which can be related to elevated lipase, though it wasn't measured at the time. As for Xcopri, I can't speak to that, as I've never taken it.
Have you already mentioned this to your doctor? I think it'd be important to do so.
Take care!
Chris
