Hi @annasweden100. Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. I'm sorry to hear about the rigidity and the balance problems.
To be sure I and other members are properly understanding what you are asking about, will you share a bit more about the exposure you are mentioning? Is its full name tri, or something longer? Where might one be exposed?

a very talented doctor/scientist ... I need information to convince the Social Insurance Agency that I have had PD for many years and that you can have PD without tremors. I had tremors after 20 years thats when doctor understood It had PD.

1 ReactionSorry-I really need to find out how to copy links on my phone. There is a lot of info on TCE and Parkinson’s. So you also might want to search:
TCE ban
TCE lawsuit
Michael J Fox foundation TCE
I had a fair amount of solvent exposure at work, even with scrubber hoods to pull vapors away from us.
My search shows around 25 percent of Parkinson’s patients don’t get tremors. I don’t have resting tremors either, but definitely have Parkinson’s.
Good luck on your journey.

4 ReactionsI was exposed to trichlorethylene in a technical field position I had 30 years ago. Used for cleaning machine parts for many years. Recently diagnosed with PD, but have had tremors and balance issues for the last 12 years at least. I always thought is was a dangerous chemical to use. Used it without gloves (was never recommender) and it really dried up my fingers. Perhaps it was absorbed into the skin.

Hi, I live in Sweden, in September last year I did a special examination, they told me that I had both inhaled Tri and absorbed into the skin. They told me that the inhalation was the large exposure and via skin the small exposure. But over time the small exposure is enough to be sick. I have had non-motor symptoms 20 years... thank you for answering me🥰
