Teriparatide and Fatigue
I'm delighted to have found this forum and have already learnt a lot by reading posts.
I have recently started Teriparatide daily injections (nearly 2 months now) and I had to fight hard and see several doctors before I got the treatment I wanted. I have had osteoporosis for 8 years but my last DEXA showed a severe decline to -3.5 and -3.7 in the spine and hips so it was time to start medication.
While happy to have started a treatment, I am so exhausted. I have black circles under my eyes at about 8pm, having slept for 8 or 9 hours the night before. I'm not due to see my rheumatologist for another 3 months and I really want to stay on this treatment.
Has anyone else experienced this fatigue and is it a side effect or something else? I'm also reading Dr. Keith McCormick's book having first heard about it here. Thanks all.

@mayblin is that 10 8oz cups???
@inlimbo yes (2400cc)
I started with 8 cups of water (1920 cc), which wasn’t enough for me at the time. My endo asked me to increase to 10 cups daily, with salt added occasionally if needed, and that worked for my low blood pressure. Hope any side effects you’re experiencing pass soon.

2 Reactions@mayblin I've suffered from chronic dehydration for well over 30 years (courtesy Uncle Sam).
No one has EVER given me any answers. I consume a healthy amount of water and also use Himalayan salt. Still no relief. I can't even counnt how many times for ER visits due to dehydration.
Recently increased my potassium intake and that has made a noticeable difference. My husband also has increased his potassium intake and feels better. We're taking it slow with the increase to get up to a daily maintenance level. i've noticed my mouth and eyes are not as dry as they used to be. A few different sources of information came our way recently about potassium deficiency. Seems to be helpful.
