@sart I hear you. It's easy for me to tell you that not having breasts won't matter because I only had a lumpectomy. But I've read so many comments from older women who have "gone flat" & they wear loose clothes & say that they're doing great! I embraced my cancer as a way to embark on a healthier lifestyle. I was already vegan but I completely stopped drinking alcohol (I feel so much better) & started doing Pilates at a local studio 4 times per week! Trying hard to lose 5 more pounds! So, weirdly, I feel healthier than ever! It's been a very positive journey for me ("SO FAR!" Fingers crossed!) Sending best wishes to you! 😊

I’m one of them. I was 63 when I had mastectomy. I went flat and am happy with my decision even though I was uncertain about how I would feel. My decision to go flat was to avoid long surgeries and complications. Now I wear loose clothes and am glad not to have to wear bra. At my age 64, I just want to be comfortable.

4 Reactions@myog thanks for sharing your positive outlook! I admire you for finding the silver lining in this otherwise stressful situation! I was born in 1953 & have always hated wearing bras & now just wear camisoles at most. If I could dispel with all undergarments, I would love it, just as you say! There's such a sense of freedom with having a more child-like body again & no restraints! Good for you! Keep up the good work! You're inspiring! ❤️

3 Reactions@jmab Same here jmab! I quit alcohol and started lifting weights 2-3 times a week, walk everyday with a weight vest and do an aerobics class 2X/week. I always ate healthfully, but adding more weight bearing exercise and losing the alcohol REALLY improved my health. I'm stronger now than ever! I just read a comment where someone suggested to read an online pdf called, "Don't waste your cancer". So inspirational!
I got a single mastectomy, so I wear a breast form in a mastectomy bra and bathing suit. No problem at all! Like you, I never liked bras, so the flat part of my chest feels free indeed!

2 Reactions@brightlight66 wonderful! Good for you! I will definitely check out that article. I'm proud that so many of us turned a negative into a positive by reclaiming our health & bodies post-cancer. Women really are the most resilient & courageous creatures! We should definitely be running the world! (Maybe someday...)! Thanks for this inspiring feedback! 😊
@sart based on pathology reports, I know they want to take one… the other is looking like it may be- full of benign lumps. It’s not a pleasant feeling at all. I’m hoping it all comes out best
For you !
