is feeling /hearing your pulse through your ear/s a chiari issue??

Ive started feeling my heartbeat through one ear worse when I move. with a feeling of pressure at the back of the head , I am diagnosed with chiari 1 so I wonder if the two are related. chairi and the heartbeat thing.

Interesting— I get this with my tinnitus, overwhelming if I run a fever or have any fluid build up in my head. I could see how the pressure shifts in your brain from chiara could produce similar symptoms —if it’s loud, my recommendation is play music, tv softly to drown out the noise—I have to sleep with the tv on to avoid nightmares!

It's never been diagnosed as tinnitus however, I have constant low like buzzing as if it's an amazing station with static if anyone remembers the days of old. Any ideas, I sleep with a fan but it's 24/7.

I have been diagnosed with tinnitus. I have that famous “ringing” in my ears. I was told that is a complete result of hearing loss after an audiology test. The kicker is that I did two audiology test that looked quite similar and one person read it as if my hearing was fine and the other one said you’re hearing you have hearing loss and therefore the ringing in your ears. I have now gone to another Doctor Who said that sometimes a little fibers in your ear get messed up and they cut the ring in your ears so it’s not really tinnitus. It’s more like an infection in your ear.
I also realized when I went to Q-tip, the ear with the ringing that there was a little bleeding. So I actually went to my PCP instead of back to the ENT and asked the PCP HER THOUGHTS. She said she was going to send me to get an MRI at the hospital. She will then get the results and discussed interpretation with me. I guess my message is that sometimes different doctors have a different viewpoint on what will help and what will not at this point. I wanna make sure there’s no tumor that could be pushing down in the inner ear and causing the ringing.

I can hear pounding sounds in my ears sometimes, both ears at once. I figured it was from higher blood pressure during those times. I also have blockages both carotid arteries

@sungaltoo I've had tinnitus for decades and, more recently, what you're describing, but only very rarely, too. At first, I thought it was my carotid artery, but it's not. Because I recently realized I think I have Vagus Nerve Dysfunction, I wonder if there's a connection to that. Last fall, I had a whopper of an ear infection (never had one before & I'm in my early 70s) that took several months to finally show itself. At first I went to the chiropractor, thinking my neck was 'out'. Eating too much cayenne pepper, or feeling tired and stressed can cause an attack. I finally found the name for it--pulsatile tinnitus:

Thanks for your post. I knew it was related to my atherosclerosis. That’s why I went on the statin and aspirin for it. I only noticed the sound when my blood pressure was up. I’m going to ask my cardiologist about it.
I’m also anemic too but they haven’t figured out why yet but say it’s probably due to my autoimmune disease

I felt like I had that too when my blood pressure was high. I have now had the blood pressure corrected and I only hear it in one ear now. It is very intermittent like one of the other people mentioned. I am hoping that I’m not losing my hearing in that ear, but I have no problem wearing a hearing aid. I am doing a virtual with a PCP on Monday and then scheduling the MRI.
I would hate to not be able to talk to anyone or hear what they’re saying to me.
