I felt like I had that too when my blood pressure was high. I have now had the blood pressure corrected and I only hear it in one ear now. It is very intermittent like one of the other people mentioned. I am hoping that I’m not losing my hearing in that ear, but I have no problem wearing a hearing aid. I am doing a virtual with a PCP on Monday and then scheduling the MRI.
I would hate to not be able to talk to anyone or hear what they’re saying to me.

@sungaltoo I've had tinnitus for decades and, more recently, what you're describing, but only very rarely, too. At first, I thought it was my carotid artery, but it's not. Because I recently realized I think I have Vagus Nerve Dysfunction, I wonder if there's a connection to that. Last fall, I had a whopper of an ear infection (never had one before & I'm in my early 70s) that took several months to finally show itself. At first I went to the chiropractor, thinking my neck was 'out'. Eating too much cayenne pepper, or feeling tired and stressed can cause an attack. I finally found the name for it--pulsatile tinnitus:
