Marijuana infused gummies
Has any one tried marijuana infused gummies with CKD there is very little out there for pain relief, no ibuprofen or any other med like that and Tylenol is a poor excuse for a pain killer?

I stick with Acetaminophen (Tylenol), but I'm concerned about taking too much and further damaging my Kidneys... My eGFR seems to hover in the mid 30's...

1 ReactionI have a medical marijuana card for microscopic colitis. I also smoke it for migraines. I haven’t found it a great source because it inhibits my ability to safely do chores during daytime (forget driving!) but a 5mg gummy at bedtime has really helped me

4 ReactionsYou can't get a good pain relief from the medical Community any more and Tylenol is a liver eater with very little pain relief. Doctor's are scared to death to prescribe any thing that will help. My back is killing me so I bought a bag of gummies. My DR is reluctant to refer me to a Chiropractor witch is where the help is. I injured my back a few years ago Dr gave me a bottle of muscle relaxers and pain pills. I came back in a week and no better at all. He says he's not allowed to give more meds. One trip to the Chiropractor and all pain gone and I could move on with my like pain free

2 ReactionsTylenol is processed thru your liver. I once heard an emergency room Dr that said Tylenol was the leading cause of liver transplants in this country today.

1 Reaction@joefriday49 Tylenol is something more like a placebo for me. Dang it. I have a maximum dose of 1500mg a day, which is only three capsules. If I need to take it, I keep it at two. I am on peritoneal dialysis everyday, and my eGFR [corrected for dialysis] is about 13%. The true eGFR is a lot lower.
Recently, because I cannot have general anesthesia for knee and hip issues, here is my go-to pain relief program: Arnica gel for topical use, or arnica montana tablets for bruising/inflammation, with success. I have also used a generic Diclofenac sodium topical gel. Yes, this is an NSAID, but it is topical and will not theoretically be processed by my kidneys. Truthfully, I figure I am already on dialysis for life, so why not make myself comfortable!? Another thing I have added at times, not on any regular basis, is CBD/THC tincture, at night.

3 ReactionsThere are lots of things that a person can try besides medication for pain relief: CBD/THC, chiropractors, massage, gentle stretching & exercise such as walking, swimming, soaking in a hot tub/jacuzzi, heat &/or ice, topical creams and ointments (Icy Hot, Absorbine Jr…. etc), relaxation breathing, reading, meditating, praying, listening to music, relaxing in a hammock, rocking in a rocking chair….. I’m brainstorming here, but you get the point. I try to avoid medication that could be harmful to something else or addictive. Examples of meds and how they can be a problem are aspirin/stomach, ibuprofen/kidneys, acetaminophen/liver, opiates & narcotics/addiction. I go to these only as a last resort, in the smallest dose possible, for a limited time and with input from a trusted medical provider. Please everybody who struggles with pain, find something helpful that won’t cause other problems as best you can and don’t give up!
