1 Reaction@mzlovely I don't have pain with my neuropathy but do have numbness and tingling in the feet and legs which makes it difficult to walk much. Changing my lifestyle and eating healthier and getting daily exercise of sorts has helped some. The Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy has some things you might consider to see if they might help some - https://www.foundationforpn.org/lifestyles/peripheral-neuropathy-nutrition/.

How long have you been experiencing these symptoms?
Are they fairly stable or progressively getting worse?
Thank you
@positivehealth - My numbness/tingling symptoms started in my toes in my late 40's and I didn't think it was worth getting a diagnosis (my bad) because the doctors told me there were no medications to treat the numbness, only the pain. Then in 2016 (age 72) with the symptoms progressing into my legs just below the knees I decided I needed to have a diagnosis. I went to Mayo Clinic Rochester and saw a neurologist, had the nerve conduction tests along with a physical exam and other labs and was diagnosed with idiopathic small fiber peripheral neuropathy. And, just like my previous doctors was told by the neurologist there are no medications to treat the numbness. That's what brought me to Connect which I am forever grateful. I shared my neuropathy journey in another discussion here - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/comment/310341/.
I still have the numbness and some tingling but it does seem like the progression has been slowed down or possibly stopped as I do have a little feeling returning to my feet but each day has a challenge of it's own. I do think learning as much as you can about the condition will help you navigate this awful stuff and live as best you can each day.

Just wondering
Do the spongy feet make it difficult to walk and cause any pain in legs?
Thank you!
Have you tried electric massager stimulation?

1 ReactionHello Yes I have tried electric massager, I am also undergoing therapy from a Dr that specialist in neuropathy, I am doing Foot soak with electric stimulation in the water, Laser Light therapy and use a Nerve Plate which stimulates the nerves in the feet with 100mhz sent through the plate into your feet, I have gone from 35% down to 3% loss of feeling in my. feet.
@dzam0621
Good results!!
Spongy feet are getting better?
That sounds very promising
Can you please share a bit more info on the nerve plate
Also the nerve stimulator?
It is something you purchased or a treatment at Doctor’s office.
Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be many doctors there specifically handle neuropathy treatment of that sort.
Appreciate any info you can provide
Carnitine Monohydrate (Dorado brand) fixed that for me. Crazy. Overnight. One scoop. Got it on Amazon for $8. Put it in my coffee. It dissolves and is flavorless.
