My TRIMIX experience

Posted by maverick75 @maverick75, Jan 4, 2025

I've been using Trimix for about six months with outstanding results. It did take some experimentation to figure out the best way to make it work for me. With hopes that it may help others, here's what I discovered using this medication: (BTW, I'm 71, one year post SBRT and 4 months Orgovyx)
- I have had to use the oral antidote several times (works well) in the early dose experimentation days for super hard erections lasting more than three hours (4tablets of 30 mg pseudoephedrine. Don't make the mistake of buying the extended release pseudoephedrine tabs). Make sure you have this on hand before you start this medication!
- I had to find the sweet spot for the injection site and depth. For me turns out to be the 10 and 2 o'clock position with the 1/2" needle almost fully inserted around mid-shaft.
- Shelf life on the Trimix in the refrigerator is limited. I can definitely see a difference in the results at the 3-4 week period. For me, it became pretty useless after 4 weeks, even at a higher dose. To help extend the life, I now fill all syringes with the needed dose as soon as I get the medication and immediately place all syringes into the freezer until needed. Now, I take a syringe out about 30 min before needed and it's ready to go. This is working well and my pharmacist said this should extend the shelf-life to 6 months or more.
- After injecting, massage the entire penis and base to help distribute the medication throughout the muscle structure. This will help significantly.
- Stand for the first 5-10 minutes after injection as gravity aids in the blood flow into the penis.
This medication has been a lifesaver for me. I was afraid I'd never see a useful erection again. Now, I'm back to 18 in that regard-- actually better than 18 as my erection stays hard even after an orgasm! Best of luck guys! Be aware that your partner may hide your medication if you use it to often. (-:

Something wrong here. I’ve never heard of anybody paying more than about $150 for trimix. You need to find somewhere else to get it.

I bought it for less in Florida but it wasn't as effective. So it wasn't actually less expensive.
I get it from a clinic in the San Francisco Bay Area. I was taking 40 & 50 units so maybe that contributed to the cost. After it was reformulated it was the same price but I got 12 injections instead of 10. Also included are syringes and 4 filled antidote syringes.

May I ask: What gauge needle is used for the Trimix injection? I hope to hear it is a 24 or 26 gauge, delivering a small amount of liquid...often called a "Tuberculin" syringe. Those are very small diameter/bore needles that don't hurt too much. I literally get the horror-movie chills thinking about sticking a needle in my penis. I am curious about the one guy's question asking if anyone has tried the Trimix "gel." Is there such a product? Thanks

Yes, there is such a product (trimix intraurethral gel) although it's not as effective but I have never used it. I rarely ever feel it go in and if I do, it's very insignifican. It comes with an applicator to insert into the urethra.
The needle to inject the Trimix I believe is a 29 gage.

@rlpostrp I got 30 gauge needles that came with my starter pack. They really, really are not painful for me. Not an issue. Frankly, I get a little excited getting one ready as I know what happens next!

@rlpostrp I use 31G 5/16” needles and an auto injector to deliver about 0.5 ml of Trimix. The injection is essentially painless.

To @dgd1953 "Thank you"...you are the first of the gents to mention that you use an auto-injector device. That sounds more promising than using my own action to insert the needle then push on a syringe plunger to deliver the 0.5 ml of liquid Trimix.
I guess I can move on now to ask what it is like...I heard you get an erection than basically can last 3 hours. One gent recommended several pills of Benadryl to counteract the Trimix. Without a prostate, seminal vesicles, and vas deferens, I know you can still climax, but I wonder now if you "last longer" before climax, and/or if you can have multiple climax experiences since you don't ejaculate and go flaccid shortly thereafter like when you did have a prostate, seminal vesicles, and vas deferens? The Trimix keeps you hard for upto three hours, so hopefully you get multiple orgasms for however long your wife/girlfriend wants to keep it going during those potential three hours, since she "is" capable of multiple orgasms. Would love to hear about all of this.

@rlpostrp I use about 15 units. That gets me about an hour of an erection. I generally will go ahead and climax around 20 minutes or so. I haven’t tried for a second. I do stay usable hard after. If you have always been a multiple organs kind of guy, I think you might be in luck. I will try to go for it and let you know 😉

In my experience, although the erection lasts upon to three hours, a second orgasm is harder to achieve. The erection is a pharmacological erection and lasts as long as the drug takes to dissipate. An orgasm does not result in flacidity. Usually you can keep going until your partner has had enough. Not many women want to go on for three hours. Walking around afterwards helps to reduce the erection faster.

18 months post nerve sparing RARP. Doing all the rehab, pumping and PDE5 inhibitors. No real activity in all that time. So first Trimix 20 Injection last night. Just started with 20 units. Injecting was easy and not painful, 6/7 out of 10 erection that lasted an hour and no bad side effects. Wow!! Life continues. Good luck to all!

I am reposting this from the discussion group “Problems with Trimix” in search of any advice…
I had my prostate removed a year ago and I am still dealing with some urinary incontinence and ED.
I am 69 and I have tried with no success to get an erection suitable for intercourse since the operation. Viagra and Cialis do not work. I recently moved up to Trimix Double strength (30-2-20) and have still been unable to get a proper erection. I tried 30 ml, then 60, then 100ml. without success. I am thinking of trying a low daily dose of Cialis to help, and my pharmacy is mixing up Trimix at the (30-2-50) strength and I will try that. If anyone has any insight into this I’d appreciate advice. It’s been very frustrating.
