Alternative to Eliquis electrophysiologist advised?

After my ischemic stroke my cardiologist sent me to a electrophysiologist. after reading the results of a two week heart monitoring and observing some irregularity that was not Afib but "could be anything". The electrophysiologist (also a cardiologist) read the monitor results and advised Eliquis. I responded I was concerned about the cost. He then said we could implant a monitor, a simple under the skin device with a 3 year life. I am 83, currently on clopidogrel 75MG, Rosuvastatin 10MG, Ezetimibe 10MG, and low dose aspirin. My question is this: Is there an effective alternative to Eliquis?

I would love to know if there was an effective alternative to Eliquis also. Will follow.

An effective alternative is Warfarin (Coumadin).....some times the older drugs produced are better, that was before BIG PHARMA decided that there was alot of money to be made. The drawback to Coumadin is that you have to have your blood monitored (PT/INR) frequently until you dosage is stable the generally once a month there after. PCP/Cardiologist don't like to deal with having to review your lab work and make recommendations if needed then send a prescription to the pharmacy. Take too much time. Eliquis is taken as a daily pill...no further action. BTW the antidote for Eliques just got taken off the market. Food for thought.
